- கலை, இலக்கியம், விளையாட்டு போன்ற துறைகளில் சிறந்து விளங்குபவர்களுக்கும் முக்கிய பங்காற்றியவர்களுக்கும் மாநிலங்களவை நியமன உறுப்பினர் பொறுப்பு வழங்கப்படும். அந்தவகையில், தற்போது இசையமைப்பாளர் இளையராஜா, தடகள வீராங்கனை பி.டி.உஷா ஆகியோருக்கு மாநிலங்களவை நியமன உறுப்பினர் பதவி வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த அறிவிப்பை பிரதமர் திரு.மோடி தனது ட்விட்டர் பக்கத்தில் வெளியிட்டுள்ளார். அதில் சாதாரண பின்னணியில் இருந்து வந்த இளையராஜா மிகப் பெரிய சாதனை படைத்துள்ளதாக குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். மனித உணர்வுகளை இசையின் வாயிலாக அழகுற பிரதிபலித்தவர் இளையராஜா என பாராட்டியுள்ளார். அவரை நாடாளுமன்ற எம்பியாக நியமிப்பதில் மகிழ்ச்சி அடைவதாக பிரதமர் திரு. மோடி குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். இதேபோல் பி.டி.உஷாவிற்கும் பிரதமர் வாழ்த்து தெரிவித்துள்ளார். இதேபோல் ஆந்திராவைச் சேர்ந்த விஜயேந்திர பிரசாத், கர்நாடகாவைச் சேர்ந்த வீரேந்திர ஹெக்கடே ஆகியோரும் மாநிலங்களவை நியமன உறுப்பினர்களாகத் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

- SpiceJet gets DGCA notice for safety lapses: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation on Wednesday served a show cause notice to SpiceJet for its failure to offer “safe, efficient and reliable” air services.
