NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST (NEET) is a Single Level Exam. Which is conducted all over the nation by the NATIONAL TESTING AGENCY (NTA) for the Students, Who are aspiring to pursue a degree in MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BSMS/BUMS/BHMS and other undergraduate medical courses in approved/recognized Medical/Dental /AYUSH and other Colleges/ Deemed Universities /Institutes (AIIMS & JIPMER) in India. NEET is an offline test conducted in a pen and paper mode. The people who are ambitious to study medicine should mandatorily attend and get qualifying marks to study in a prestigious institution. It can be written in 11 Languages Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.

Lower age limit: Born before 31.12.2004. Upper age limit: 25 years

SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD: 5 years relaxation from the upper age limit

For General Category – 50% (Physically Handicapped, PH – 45%) and for OBC/SC/ST – 40% (PH – 40%)

Note: The marks scored for Math would not be taken into consideration in this exam

  • ●  Candidates who are appearing for their board exams in the year 2021 – Eligible
  • ●  Candidates who have appeared for Class 12 exam and appearing for an improvement exam – Eligible
  • ●  Students who have appeared for the Class 12 exam in 2020 and have taken an improvement exam in 2021, can mention the year of the exam with a better score.

Who Conducts NEET?

NEET is conducted by NATIONAL TESTING AGENCY (NTA) once in a year in the month of May. Before NTA, which is an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization, the test was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The examination, which offers 90,000 seats in MBBS and BDS Colleges of India, is conducted in the month of May every year.

PATTERN FOR NEET:

The Entrance Examination consists of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the specially designed machine-gradable sheet using Blue/Black Ball Point Pen only. Each correct answer will get 04 marks and for each incorrect response, 01 mark will be deducted from the total score. Thus, the paper will be of total 180×4 = 720 marks.
