- சரக்கு மற்றும் சேவை வரி (ஜிஎஸ்டி) கவுன்சில் பரிந்துரைகள் மத்திய மாநில அரசுகளை கட்டுப்படுத்தாது என்று உச்சநீதிமன்றம் தீர்ப்பளித்துள்ளது. அதே நேரம் “கூட்டாட்சி தத்துவத்தை அடிப்படையாக கொண்டு இயங்கும் நாடு என்ற அடிப்படையில் இரண்டு அரசுகளையும் வலியுறுத்தும் தகுதியை கவுன்சில் பரிந்துரைக்கலாம் என்றும் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
* கடல்சார் போக்குவரத்துக்கு 5% ஒருங்கிணைந்த ஜிஎஸ்டி விதித்து 2017-ல் மத்திய பிறப்பித்த அறிக்கையை குஜராத் நீதிமன்றம் தள்ளுபடி செய்ததை அடுத்து மத்திய அரசு சார்பில் உச்ச நீதிமன்றத்தில் வழக்கு தொடரப்பட்டது. நேற்று விசாரணைக்கு வந்த இந்த மனுவுக்கு தீர்ப்பளித்த நீதிபதிகள், குஜராத் உயர் நீதிமன்றம் பிறப்பித்த உத்தரவு சரியானது என்று தீர்ப்பளித்துள்ளது.
* சட்டப்பிரிவு 246ஏ இரு அரசுகளையும் சமமான அங்கீகாரம் படைத்ததாக அங்கீகரிப்பது போல சட்டப்பிரிவு 279 இரு அரசுகளும் தனித்தனியாக செயல்பட முடியாது என்பதை வலியுறுத்துகிறது.
- பாமாயில் ஏற்றுமதிக்கு விதிக்கப்பட்ட தடை நீக்கப்படுவதாக இந்தோனேசியா அறிவித்துள்ளது. உள்ளூர் விவசாயிகளின் போராட்டத்தை அடுத்து இந்த முடிவை அந்நாட்டு அரசு எடுத்துள்ளது. இந்தோனேசியாவும் மலேசியாவும் உலக அளவில் பாமாயில் ஏற்றுமதியில் முன்னணி நாடுகளாக இருக்கிறது. உலக பாமாயில் உற்பத்தியில் 85% இந்த நாடுகளில் தான் இருக்கிறது. இதனால் நாட்டின் பொருளாதாரம் பாமாயிலேயே நம்பி இருக்கிறது.
- அரசு மருத்துவமனைகளுக்கு வரும் நோயாளிகளின் விவரங்கள் மற்றும் அவர்களுக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்ட சிகிச்சைகளின் விவரங்களை மாநில அளவில் இணைய உதவியின் மூலமாக பதிவேற்றம் செய்ய ஆஸ்திரேலிய அரசு அதிகாரிகளுடன் தமிழக மக்கள் நல்வாழ்வுத்துறை ஆலோசனை நடத்தி இருக்கிறது.

- The Supreme Court has ruled that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council recommendations do not restrict federal governments. At the same time, it has been suggested that the Council may recommend the right of both states to assert themselves on the basis of “a country operating on the principle of federalism.”
* The case was filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of the Central Government after the Gujarat High Court dismissed a report issued by the Center in 2017 imposing a 5% integrated GST on maritime transport. The judges, who heard the petition yesterday, ruled that the order issued by the Gujarat High Court was correct.
* Section 246A emphasizes that Article 279 states that the two states cannot act separately as they recognize the two states as having equal recognition.
- Indonesia announces lifting of ban on palm oil exports The government has taken this decision following the struggle of the local farmers. Indonesia and Malaysia are the leading exporters of palm oil globally. These countries account for 85% of world palm oil production. Thus the country’s economy is dependent on palm oil.
- The Tamil Nadu People’s Welfare Department is in consultation with Australian government officials to upload details of patients coming to government hospitals and the treatment provided to them through state-level internet assistance.
- Tamil Nadu Tourism Minister Ma Mathivendan has requested Central Culture and Tourism Minister Kishan Reddy to upgrade places of worship like Thiruvannamalai and Thiruthani like Rameswaram in the offering scheme. In Rameswaram this offering project has been divided into 5 projects and the initial phase work has started. The central government is to launch the Agni Padi Theertham, car parks, pavement repair, dock lighting and the second phase of the Sudesh Darshan project.
- Intellectual Research Park: An intellectual research park is to be set up at Bharathiar University as the state universities have already given their approval to set up a research park in their resources to further enhance the potential human resources in Tamil Nadu.
- United Arab Emirates Award: Since the DMK took over, 131 MoUs have been signed with an investment of Rs 69,375 crore to create 2.25 lakh jobs.
