சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் முதல் பெண் ‘சோப்தார்’ நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். இவர் பெண் நீதிபதிகளுக்கான ‘சோப்தாராக’ (செங்கோல் ஏந்தி செல்பவர்) செயல்படுவார். அனைத்து துறைகளிலும் ஆண்களுக்கு நிகராக பெண்கள் கால்பதித்து வருகின்றனர். நீதித் துறையிலும் பல்வேறு பணியிடங்களில் பெண்கள் அதிகளவில் பணிபுரிந்து வருகின்றனர். உயர் நீதிமன்ற நீதிபதிகள் தங்களது சேம்பரில் இருந்து நீதிமன்ற அறைக்குச் செல்லும்போது அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக ‘சோப்தார்’ எனப்படும் உதவியாளர்கள் வெள்ளைநிற சீருடை மற்றும் சிவப்பு நிற தலைப்பாகை அணிந்து, மரியாதை நிமித்தமாகவும், நீதிபதிகளின் வருகையை உணர்த்தும் விதமாகவும் செங்கோலை ஏந்தியபடி சமிக்ஞை கொடுத்துக் கொண்டே செல்வர்.
அத்துடன் நீதிபதிகளுக்கு தேவையான சட்டப் புத்தகங்கள், வழக்கு தொடர்பான கோப்புகளை எடுத்துத் தருவது என நீதிபதிகளின் அன்றாடப் பணிகளுக்கு உதவிகரமாக செயல்படுவார்கள். அந்த வகையில் கடந்த ஆண்டு சென்னைஉயர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் காலியாக இருந்த 40 ‘சோப்தார்’ பணியிடங்கள் மற்றும் 310 அலுவலக உதவியாளர்கள் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு பணியிடங்களுக்கு உயர் நீதிமன்றதேர்வுக்குழு மூலமாக எழுத்துத் தேர்வு நடத்தப்பட்டது.
அதில் பங்கேற்ற விண்ணப்பதாரர்களில் சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்றத்தில் உள்ள பெண் நீதிபதிகளுக்கு பெண் ‘சோப்தார்’களை நியமிக்கும் வகையில் 20 பெண்‘சோப்தார்’கள் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.அவர்களில் சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்ற வரலாற்றில் முதல் பெண்‘சோப்தாராக’ திலானி என்பவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். இவர் உயர்நீதிமன்ற நீதிபதி ஆர்.என்.மஞ்சுளாவின் சேம்பரில் பணியாற்றி வருகிறார். இவரைத் தொடர்ந்து இன்னும் பல பெண் ‘சோப்தார்’கள் நியமிக்கப்படவுள்ளனர்.

காஞ்சிபுரம் மாவட்டத்தில் முதல் முறையாக நானோ யூரியாவை டிரோன் மூலம் வான்வழியாக தெளிப்பதால், விவசாயிகளுக்கு ஏற்படும் பயன்கள் குறித்து நேற்று செயல்முறை விளக்கம் செய்து காண்பிக்கப்பட்டது. காஞ்சிபுரம் மாவட்டத்தில் முதல் முறையாக தாங்கி கிராமத்தில் விவசாயி ஒருவரின் நெற்பயிரிட்டுள்ள வயலில் நானோ யூரியாவை டிரோன் மூலம் வான்வழியாக தெளிப்பது தொடர்பான செயல்முறை விளக்கம் விவசாயிகளுக்கு முதல் முறையாக செய்து காட்டப்பட்டது. இந்திய உழவர் உரக்கூட்டு நிறுவனமும், முத்தியால்பேட்டை தொடக்க வேளாண்மைக் கூட்டுறவு சங்கமும் இணைந்து நடத்திய செயல்முறை விளக்க முகாமினை நடத்தியன.

1952-ம் ஆண்டு முதல் ஹரிவராசனம் பாடல் சபரிமலையில் இசைக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. புகழ் பெற்ற இந்த பாடலை கொன்னகத்து ஜானகி அம்மாள் என்பவர் 1923-ம் ஆண்டு இயற்றி உள்ளார். பாடல் இயற்றப்பட்ட நூற்றாண்டு விழாவை நாடு முழுவதும் கொண்டாட திட்டமிட்டுள்ளார்கள். ஹரிவராசனம் நூற்றாண்டு விழா குழு கூட்டம் சென்னை வானகரத்தில் நாளை (11-ந்தேதி) நடக்கிறது. ஸ்ரீவாரு மண்டபத்தில் நடைபெறும் இந்த விழாவில் தமிழக கவர்னர் ஆர்.என்.ரவி நூற்றாண்டு விழா இலட்சினையை வெளியிடுகிறார். விழாவில் தெலுங்கானா கவர்னர் டாக்டர் தமிழிசை சவுந்தரராஜன், இசைஞானி இளையராஜா, திருவிதாங்கூர் தேவசம் போர்டு தலைவர் அனந்த சோபன் உள்பட சுமார் ஆயிரம் பேர் பங்கேற்கிறார்கள்.

44-வது செஸ் ஒலிம்பியாட் போட்டிக்கான இலச்சினை மற்றும் சின்னத்தை தமிழக முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் இன்று வெளியிட்டார். முதன்முறையாக தமிழ்நாட்டில் செஸ் ஒலிம்பியாட் போட்டி நடைபெறவுள்ளது. சென்னையை அடுத்த மாமல்லபுரத்தில் ஜூலை 28-ம் தேதி முதல் ஆகஸ்டு 10-ம் தேதி வரை இந்தப் போட்டித் தொடர் நடைபெறுகிறது. இப்போட்டியில் 186 நாடுகளைச் சேர்ந்த 2000-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட சர்வதேச சதுரங்க விளையாட்டு வீரர்கள், வீராங்கனைகள் பங்கேற்கவுள்ளனர். இப்போட்டியினை தமிழ்நாட்டில் நடத்துவது குறித்து முதல்வர் ஸ்டாலின் முன்னிலையில் தமிழ்நாடு அரசு மற்றும் அகில இந்திய சதுரங்க கூட்டமைப்புடன் புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் கடந்த மாதம் கையெழுத்தானது.

- Chennai High Court appoints first lady “Sopdar”
Chennai High Court has appointed the first woman ‘Chopdar’. She will act as the ‘chopper’ (scepter bearer) for female judges. Women are following in the footsteps of men in all fields. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin today unveiled the logo and emblem of the 44th Chess Olympiad. The Chess Olympiad will be held in Tamil Nadu for the first time. The tournament will be held at Mamallapuram next to Chennai from July 28 to August 10. More than 2000 international chess players from 186 countries will take part in the tournament. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed last month with the Government of Tamil Nadu and the All India Chess Federation in the presence of Chief Minister Stalin on hosting the tournament in Tamil Nadu.
