- உணவுப் பாதுகாப்புக்கான செயல்பாடுகளில் தேசிய அளவில் தமிழக உணவுப் பாதுகாப்பு துறை முதலிடம் பிடித்துள்ளது. இதற்காக, மத்திய சுகாதாரத் துறை அமைச்சர் மன்சுக் மாண்டவியா, தமிழக உணவு பாதுகாப்புத் துறை ஆணையர் செந்தில்குமாருக்கு விருது வழங்கினார். நாடு முழுவதும் இருந்து 150 மாவட்டங்கள் பங்கேற்றன. அதில், தமிழகத்தில் திருவள்ளூர், காஞ்சிபுரம், சேலம், கோயம்புத்தூர், சென்னை, திருநெல்வேலி, ஈரோடு, மதுரை, தூத்துக்குடி, திருப்பூர், திண்டுக்கல் ஆகிய 11 மாவட்டங்கள், சிறந்த செயல்பாட்டுக்கான விருதுக்குத் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டன. இதையடுத்து, டெல்லியில் இந்திய உணவுப் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் தர நிர்ணய ஆணையம் சார்பில் நடைபெற்ற விருது வழங்கும் விழாவில்,மத்திய சுகாதாரத் துறை அமைச்சர்மன்சுக் மாண்டவியா, தமிழக உணவுப் பாதுகாப்புத் துறை ஆணையர் செந்தில்குமாரிடம், தமிழகம் முதல் மாநிலமாகத் தேர்வுசெய்யப்பட்டதற்கான விருது, சிறப்பாக செயல்பட்ட 11 மாவட்டங்களுக்கான விருதுகளை வழங்கினார்.

- 7,180 மெகாவாட் உற்பத்தி செய்து குஜராத் 3-வது இடத்திலும்,
- 5,067 மெகாவாட் உற்பத்தி செய்து தமிழகம் 4-வது இடத்திலும் உள்ளதாக மின்வாரிய அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்தனர்.
- அனைத்து வடிவிலான சர்வதேச கிரிக்கெட் போட்டிகளில் இருந்தும் ஓய்வு பெறுவதாக இந்திய பெண்கள் கிரிக்கெட் அணியின் கேப்டன் மிதாலி ராஜ் (வயது 39) இன்று அறிவித்துள்ளார். இந்திய பெண்கள் கிரிக்கெட் அணிக்கு மகத்தான பங்களிப்பை வழங்கியுள்ள மிதாலி ராஜ் சர்வதேச கிரிக்கெட் அரங்கில் எண்ணற்ற பல சாதனைகளை படைத்துள்ளார். அயர்லாந்து அணிக்கு எதிராக 1999 ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய அணிக்கு அறிமுகமாகிய மிதாலி, பெண்கள் ஒரு நாள் கிரிக்கெட்டில் அதிக ரன்கள் குவித்தவர் என்ற சாதனையுடன் ஓய்வு பெற்றுள்ளார். இந்திய அணிக்காக ஒருநாள் போட்டிகளில் 232 போட்டிகளில் 7805 ரன்களை மிதாலி ராஜ் குவித்துள்ளார். இவரது தலைமையின் கீழ் இந்திய அணி 2017 ஆம் ஆண்டு உலகக்கோப்பை இறுதிப்போட்டி வரை முன்னேறியது.
- இந்தியாவின் 75 ஆண்டுக்கால சுதந்திரத்தை நினைவுகூரும்விதமாகவும், பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி அறிவித்த ஆசாதி கா அம்ரித் மஹோத்சவின் கீழும், இந்திய தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலைகள் ஆணையம் (National Highways Authority of India) கின்னஸ் உலக சாதனை படைத்திருக்கிறது. மகாராஷ்டிரா மாநிலத்தின் அமராவதி-அகோலா மாவட்டங்களுக்கு இடையே NH53-ல் ஒரே பாதையில் 105 மணி நேரம், 33 நிமிடங்களில், 75 கிலோமீட்டர் தூரத்துக்கு பிட்மினஸ் கான்கிரீட் போடப்பட்டு சாதனை படைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது
- ரிசர்வ் வங்கியின் நிதிக் கொள்கைக் குழு கூட்டம் மும்பையில் நடந்தது. இந்தக் கூட்டத்தில் ரெப்போ விகிதத்தை 0.5 சதவீதம் உயர்த்துவது என முடிவெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதன் மூலம் ரெப்போ விகிதம் 50 அடிப்படை புள்ளிகள் அதிகரித்து 4.90% ஆக நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ரெப்போ(REPO) என்பது, வங்கிகளுக்கு ரிசர்வ் வங்கி வழங்கும் கடனுக்கு விதிக்கப்படும் வட்டி விகிதமாகவும். தற்போது ரிசர்வ் வங்கி ரெப்போ விகிதத்தை உயர்த்தியுள்ளதால், ஏனைய வங்கிகளும், தங்களது வாடிக்கையாளர் கடன்களுக்கான வட்டியை அதிகரிக்கும். இதனால் வீடு, வாகனம் மற்றும் தனிநபர் கடன்களுக்கான வட்டி விகிதம் அதிகரிக்கக்கூடும்.
- பாதுகாப்பு உறவுகளை விரிவுபடுத்துவதற்கான ராணுவ தளவாடங்கள் ஆதரவு ஒப்பந்தம் மற்றும் தொலைநோக்கு ஆவணத்தில் இந்தியாவும் வியட்நாமும் கையெழுத்திட்டன. இந்தியாவும் வியட்நாமும் புதன்கிழமை பாதுகாப்பு உறவுகளை மேலும் விரிவுபடுத்துவதற்கான தொலைநோக்கு ஆவணத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டன. பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சர் ராஜ்நாத் சிங், வியட்நாம் பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சர் ஜெனரல் பான் வான் ஜியாங்குடன் ஹனோயில் நடத்திய பேச்சுவார்த்தைக்குப் பிறகு இந்த இரண்டு ஒப்பந்தங்களிலும் கையெழுத்திட்டது, தென் சீனக் கடலில் சீனாவின் பெருகிவரும் தசை வலிமை குறித்த பொதுவான கவலைகளுக்கு மத்தியில், இந்தியா-வியட்நாம் இடையிலான மூலோபாய உறவுகளில் ஒரு முக்கிய முன்னேற்றமாக பார்க்கப்படுகிறது.
- நெல், சோளம், பருப்பு வகைகள் உள்ளிட்ட 14 வகை காரி பருவ பயிர்களின் கொள்முதல் விலையை உயர்த்தி மத்திய அரசு அறிவித்துள்ளது. அதன்படி, நெல்லுக்கான குறைந்தபட்ச ஆதரவு விலை ரூ.100 ஆக உயர்த்தி மத்திய அமைச்சரவை ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது. பிரதமர் மோடி தலைமையில் டெல்லியில் நடைபெற்ற மத்திய அமைச்சரவை கூட்டத்தில் இந்த முடிவு எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 2022-23-ஆம் ஆண்டில் நெல்லுக்கான குறைந்தபட்ச ஆதரவு விலை ரூ.100 உயர்த்தி, ஒரு குவிண்டால் நெல்லுக்கு ரூ.2,040 வழங்க மத்திய அமைச்சரவை ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது. பிரதமர் தலைமையிலான மத்திய அமைச்சரவை கூட்டத்தில் எடுக்கப்பட்ட முடிவுகள் குறித்து மத்திய அமைச்சர் அனுராக் தாகூர் அறிவித்தார். மேலும், எள் குவிண்டாலுக்கு ரூ.523, பாசி பருப்பு குவிண்டாலுக்கு ரூ.480, சூரியகாந்தி விதை குவிண்டாலுக்கு ரூ.385 உயர்த்தி அமைச்சரவை ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது. நாட்டில் இறக்குமதியை சார்ந்திருப்பது குறைந்துள்ளது. விவசாயிகளின் வருமானம் அதிகரித்துள்ளது என்று தெரிவித்த அமைச்சர், அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட விகிதங்கள் குறைந்தபட்சம் 1.5 மடங்கு அளவில் MSP-களை நிர்ணயம் செய்யும் கொள்கைக்கு ஏற்ப உள்ளன என்றும் குறிப்பிட்டார்.
- “ஒரு ரயில் நிலையம்; ஒரு உற்பத்தி பொருள்” என்ற தலைப்பில் ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷன்களில் கைவினைப்பொருட்கள் விற்பனை அரங்கம் வைக்க ரயில்வே துறை அனுமதி வழங்கி இருக்கிறது. இதயடுத்து தஞ்சாவூர் ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷனில், புவிசார் குறியீடு பெற்ற தஞ்சாவூர் தலையாட்டி பொம்மைகள் விற்பனைக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- தமிழகம் முழுவதும் கந்துவட்டிக் கொடுமைகளுக்கு முற்றுப்புள்ளி வைக்கும் வகையில் ‘ஆபரேஷன் கந்துவட்டி’ என்ற பெயரில் தீவிர நடவடிக்கை மேற்கொள்ளுமாறு காவல் ஆணையர்கள், மாவட்ட எஸ்.பி.க்களுக்கு டிஜிபி சைலேந்திர பாபு உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளார்.

- The Food Security Department of Tamil Nadu is number one nationally in food security activities. For this, Union Health Minister Mansuk Mandavia presented the award to Tamil Nadu Food Safety Commissioner Senthilkumar. 150 districts from across the country participated. - Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj (age 39) today announced her retirement from all forms of international cricket. Mithali Raj has made a tremendous contribution to the Indian women’s cricket team and has made countless achievements in international cricket. Mithali, who made his debut for India against Ireland in 1999, has retired with the record for most runs in women’s one-day cricket. Mithali Raj has scored 7805 runs in 232 ODIs for India. Under his leadership, the Indian team advanced to the 2017 World Cup final.
- The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has set a Guinness World Record under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence. A record 105 hours, 33 minutes and 75 km of bituminous concrete has been laid on NH53 between Amravati and Akola districts of Maharashtra.
- The Reserve Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee meeting was held in Mumbai. At this meeting it was decided to raise the repo rate by 0.5 per cent. The repo rate has been increased by 50 basis points to 4.90%. Repo (REPO) is the interest rate charged on a loan issued by the Reserve Bank to a bank. Now that the Reserve Bank has raised the repo rate, other banks will also raise interest rates on their customer loans. This may increase the interest rate on home, auto and personal loans.
- India and Vietnam sign military logistics support agreement and vision document to expand security ties. India and Vietnam on Wednesday signed a vision document to further expand security ties. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh signed the two agreements after talks in Hanoi with Vietnamese Defense Minister General Ban Wan Jiang, which is seen as a major improvement in India-Vietnam strategic relations amid general concerns about China’s growing muscle strength in the South China Sea.
- The central government has announced an increase in the purchase price of 14 varieties of seasonal crops, including paddy, maize and pulses.
