- உலக மக்கள் தொகை தினம் ஆண்டுதோறும் ஜூலை 11 அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. 2022ஆம் ஆண்டு உலக மக்கள்தொகை தினத்தின் கருப்பொருள் “8 பில்லியன் உலகம்: அனைவருக்கும் நெகிழ்ச்சியான எதிர்காலத்தை நோக்கி – வாய்ப்புகளைப் பயன்படுத்துதல் மற்றும் அனைவருக்கும் உரிமைகள் மற்றும் தேர்வுகளை உறுதி செய்தல்” என்பதாகும்.
- இரண்டு சோதனைகள் மற்றும் நாட்கள் சஸ்பென்ஸுக்குப் பிறகு, இந்திய தடகள கூட்டமைப்பு (AFI) இறுதியாக நீளம் தாண்டுதல் வீரர் ஜெஸ்வின் ஆல்ட்ரினை ஜூலை 15 அன்று அமெரிக்காவின் ஓரிகானில் தொடங்கும் உலக சாம்பியன்ஷிப் போட்டியில் பங்கேற்க அனுமதித்தது. அவர் முதல் சோதனையில் (திருவனந்தபுரத்தில்) 7.99 மீ மற்றும் பாட்டியாலாவில்93 மீ தாண்டிய பிறகு உலக சாம்பியன்ஷிப்” என்று AFI தலைவர் அடில்லே சுமரிவாலா கூறினார்.

- World Population Day is observed annually on July 11. The theme for the World Population Day 2022 is “A world of 8 billion: Towards a resilient future for all – Harnessing opportunities and ensuring rights and choices for all.”
- After two trials and days of suspense, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) finally cleared long jumper Jeswin Aldrin for the World Championships which begin in Oregon, USA, on July 15. “We have decided to give him the chance to compete in the World Championships after he jumped 7.99m in the first trial (in Thiruvananthapuram) and 7.93m in Patiala,” said Adille Sumariwalla, the AFI president.
- On July 5, microblogging platform twitter moved the karnataka high court seeking to set aside multiple blocking orders of the central government as well as to lter their directions to identify specific violative content than imposing a blanket ban on individual accounts. According to Twitter, the blocking orders were :procedurally and substantially” non compliant with Section 69A of the Information Technology Act (IT Act)
- INS Vikrant arrived at Cochin Dockyard after completing the fourth phase of sea trials. The ship will be handed over to the Indian Navy on July 22
- The World Games are being held in Birmingham, USA. India’s Abhishek Verma and Jyoti Surega played against Mexico’s Andrea Becerra and Miguel Becerra in the mixed team archery bronze medal match. The pair of Abhishek Verma and Jyoti Surekha won the bronze medal with a score of 157-156.
- Serbian star Novak Djokovic won the men’s singles title at Wimbledon for the 7th time. Djokovic, who faced Australia’s Nick Kyrgios yesterday in the final, won the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) after fighting for 3 hours. He kissed the trophy for the 7th time in the Wimbledon series and won the 21st Grand Slam title. With this, Djokovic remains at the 2nd place behind Spain’s Rafael Nadal (22nd rank). Swiss star Federer (20 titles) dropped to 3rd place
