- இலங்கையின் புதிய பிரதமராக ரணில் விக்ரம சிங்க் நேற்று (12.05.2022) பதவியேற்றுக்கொண்டார். பொருளாதார நெருக்கடியில் சிக்கியுள்ள இலங்கையில் கடந்த திங்கள் கிழமையில் இருந்து நடைபெற்ற வன்முறையை அடுத்து அதிபர் மகிந்தா ராஜ பட்ச தனது பிரதமர் பதவியை ராஜினாமா செய்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
* இலங்கை நாட்டின் 26-வது பிரதமராக ரணில் விக்ரம சிங்க் பதவியேற்றுக்கொண்டார்.
* நாட்டின் பழமை வாய்ந்த ஐக்கிய தேசிய கட்சியின் தலைவராக ரணில் விக்ரம சிங்க், ஐந்து முறை பிரதமர் பதவி வகித்தவர்.
- இந்தியாவின் அடுத்த தலைமை தேர்தல் ஆணையராக ராஜீவ் குமார் நியமிக்கப்படுவதாக மத்திய அரசு அறிவித்துள்ளது
- செவிலியர்களுக்கு முன்மாதிரியாக உலகமெங்கும் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ஃபிளாரன்ஸ் நைட்டிங்கேலின் தன்னலமற்ற சேவையை கொண்டாடும் வகையில் உலகமெங்கும் “சர்வதேச செவிலியர் தினம் (12.05.2022)” கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

- இலக்கு நீடிக்கப்பட்ட பிரமோஸ் சூப்பர்சோனிக் (ஒலியைவிட அதிவேகமானது) ஏவுகணையின் மேம்படுத்தப்பட்ட வடிவம் வங்கக்கடலில் நேற்று (12.5.2022) வெற்றிகரமாக சோதனை செய்யப்பட்டது. சோதனையின்போது மேம்படுத்தப்பட்ட வடிவம் முதல் முறையாக சுகோய் எஸ்யூ – 30 எம் கே ஐ போர் விமானத்தில் இருந்து வங்கக்கடல் பகுதியில் இருந்த இலக்கை நோக்கி செலுத்தப்பட்டது.
- நமது பால் வெளி மண்டலத்தில் காணப்படும் மாபெரும் கருந்துளையின் முதல் புகைப்படத்தை வானியலாளர்கள் வெளியிட்டுள்ளனர். சூரியனை விட 40 லட்சம் மடங்கு பெரிதாக இந்த கருந்துளை இருக்கும் என்று தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த கருந்துளைக்கு ஸாஜிடேரியஸ் – ஏ என்று பெயரிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. அஸ்ட்ரோபிசிக்கல் ஐர்னல் லெட்டர்ஸ் என்ற அறிவியல் இதழ் வெளியிட்டது
- நேபாளத்தில் மலையேற்ற நிபுணத்துவம் மிகுந்த “ஷெர்பா” இனத்தை சேர்ந்த லக்பா ஷெர்பா, 10 வது முறையாக எவரெஸ்ட் சிகரத்தில் ஏறி சாதனை படைத்தது இருக்கிறார்.
- நேட்டோ அமைப்பில் பின்லாந்தை இணைத்துக் கொள்வதற்கான விண்ணப்பத்தை உடனடியாக சமர்பிப்பதற்கு ஆதரவு தெரிவிப்பதாக அந்நாட்டு அதிபர் சாவ்லி நினிஸ்டா மற்றும் பிரதமர் சனா மரின் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
