- குஜராத்தில் அடுத்த மாதம் நடைபெறவுள்ள சட்டப்பேரவைத் தேர்தலில், ஆம் ஆத்மியின் முதல்வர் வேட்பாளராக கட்சியின் தேசிய பொதுச் செயலரும் பத்திரிகையாளருமான இசுதான் கட்வி அறிவிக்கப்பட்டார்.
- 40 வயதாகும் கட்வி, துவாரகா மாவட்டத்தின் பிபாலியா கிராமத்தில் விவசாயக் குடும்பத்தில் பிறந்தவர்.
- இதர பிற்படுத்தப்பட்ட வகுப்பைச்சேர்ந்தவர். தொலைக்காட்சித் தொகுப்பாளராக ஏற்கெனவே பணியாற்றியுள்ளார்.
- குஜராத்தில் இதர பிற்படுத்தப்பட்ட வகுப்பினர் 48 சதவீதம் உள்ள நிலையில், அந்த வகுப்பைச்சேர்ந்தவர் ஆம் ஆத்மியின் முதல்வர் வேட்பாளராக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
- பஞ்சாபை போல குஜராத்திலும் ஆம் ஆத்மியின் முதல்வர் வேட்பாளர் மக்களால் தேர்வு செய்யப்படுவார் என்று அரவிந்த் கேஜரிவால் கூறியிருந்தார்.
- அதன்படி, மக்களிடமிருந்து பெறப்பட்ட கருத்துகளின் அடிப்படையில் இசுதான் கட்வியை முதல்வர் வேட்பாளராக அவர் அறிவித்துள்ளார்.
2. தொழிலாளர் ஓய்வூதிய திருத்தம் சட்டத் திருத்தம் செல்லும்: உச்சநீதிமன்றம்
- தொழிலாளர் ஓய்வூதிய சட்டத்தில் மேற்கொள் ளப்பட்ட திருத்தங்கள் செல்லும் என உச்சநீதிமன்றம் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
- தொழிலாளர் ஓய்வூதிய சட்டத்தில் கடந்த 2014-ஆம் ஆண்டில் திருத்தங்கள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டன.
- அதன்படி, ஓய்வூதிய பங்களிப்புக்கான அதிகபட்ச ஊதியம் மாதம் ரூ.6,500-இல் இருந்து ரூ.15,000-ஆக அதிகரிக்கப்பட்டது. மாதம் ரூ.15,000-க்கு மேல் ஊதியம் பெறுவோர் 1.16 சதவீதம் கூடுதல் ஓய்வூதியப் பங்களிப்பை வழங்க வேண்டும் என விதிகளில் திருத்தம் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது.
- மேலும், ஓய்வூதியத் திட்டத்தில் இணையும் தொழிலாளர்களுக்கான குறைந்தபட்ச ஊதியம் மாதம் ரூ.15,000-ஆக இருக்க வேண்டுமெனவும் விதிகள் திருத்தப்பட்டன.
- எனினும், ரூ.15,000-க்கு அதிகமாக மாத ஊதியம் பெறுவோர் மட்டுமே ஓய்வூதிய நிதியில் இணைய முடியும் என்ற விதியை ரத்து செய்து நீதிபதிகள் உத்தரவிட்டனர்.
- மேலும், மாதம் ரூ.15,000-க்கு அதிகமாக ஊதியம் பெறுவோர் கூடுதலாக 1.16 சதவீதம் ஓய்வூதியப் பங்களிப்பை வழங்க வேண்டும் என்ற திருத்தத்தையும் நீதிபதிகள் ரத்து செய்தனர்.
- இபிஎஃப்ஓ அமைப்பு கூடுதல் நிதியைத் திரட்டும் நோக்கில் இருப்பதால், இந்த விதி ரத்தானது எனவும் நீதிபதிகள் தெரிவித்தனர்.

1. தமிழகத்தில் 22 கட்சிகள் செயல்படாதவை: தேர்தல் ஆணையம் தகவல்
- தமிழகத்தில் 233 பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட கட்சிகளில், 22 கட்சிகள் எந்தத் தேர்தலிலும் போட்டியிடாமல், வருமான வரி கணக்கு தாக்கல் உள்ளிட்ட தேர்தல் ஆணையத்தின் விதிகளை பின்பற்றாமல் இருந்ததை தேர்தல் ஆணையம் கண்டறிந்தது.
- பட்டியலில் இருந்து நீக்கம்:
- 22 கட்சிகளையும் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட அரசியல் கட்சிகளின் பட்டியலில் இருந்து இந்திய தேர்தல் ஆணையம் தற்காலிகமாக நீக்கி வைத்துள்ளது.

- வடகிழக்கு இந்திய அழகியாக மேகாலயத்தை சேர்ந்த ஐரீன் டாக்கர் (20) தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

- பல்கலைக்கழக மானியக் குழு (யுஜிசி) செயலர் ரஜினிஷ்ஜெயின், அனைத்து உயர்கல்வி நிறுவனங்களுக்கும் அனுப்பியுள்ள சுற்றறிக்கையில் கூறியிருப்பதாவது.
- தேசிய கல்விக் கொள்கையின் படி, இளம் எழுத்தாளர்கள் ஊக்குவிப்பு திட்டம் (யுவா), கடந்த ஆண்டு மத்திய கல்வி அமைச்சகத்தால் அறிமுகம் செய்யப்பட்டது.
- நடப்பு கல்வியாண்டுக்கான (2022-23) யுவா–2.0 திட்டம் ‘ஜன நாயகம்‘ என்ற கருப்பொருளில் அமல்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- இந்த திட்டத்தின்கீழ் 30 வயதுக்கு கீழான இளம் எழுத்தாளர்கள் கட்டுரை, கவிதை, கதை, நாடகம், பயணக் குறிப்புகள் உட்பட பல்வேறு வடிவங்களில் எழுதுவதற்கு ஊக்குவிக்கப்படுவர்.

1. Gujarat Elections: Aam Aadmi Party Chief Ministerial Candidate Isudan Gadvi
- The party’s national general secretary and journalist Isudhan Gadvi was announced as the Aam Aadmi Party’s chief ministerial candidate for next month’s assembly elections in Gujarat.
- 40-year-old Kadvi was born into a farming family in Bipalia village of Dwarka district.
- Belongs to Other Backward Classes. He has already worked as a TV host.
- While Other Backward Classes constitute 48 percent in Gujarat, a person belonging to that class has been announced as the Chief Ministerial candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party.
- As in Punjab, Aam Aadmi’s chief ministerial candidate in Gujarat is also by the people Arvind Kejriwal had said that he will be selected.
- Accordingly, he has announced Isudhan Gadvi as the chief ministerial candidate based on the opinions received from the people.
2. Labor Pension Amendment Bill Goes: Supreme Court
- The Supreme Court has said that the amendments made in the Labor Pension Act will go ahead.
- Amendments were made to the Labor Pension Act in 2014.
- Accordingly, the maximum salary for pension contribution has been increased from Rs.6,500 to Rs.15,000 per month. The rules have been amended to make 1.16 per cent additional pension contribution for those earning more than Rs 15,000 per month.
- Also, the rules were amended to make the minimum wage of workers joining the pension scheme Rs.15,000 per month.
- However, the judges ordered to cancel the rule that only those who get a monthly salary of more than Rs.15,000 can join the pension fund.
- The judges also struck down the amendment requiring those earning more than Rs 15,000 per month to pay an additional 1.16 per cent pension contribution.
- The judges also said that this provision was voided as the EPFO system was intended to raise additional funds.

1. 22 parties inactive in Tamil Nadu: Election Commission information
- The Election Commission found that out of 233 registered parties in Tamil Nadu, 22 parties did not contest any election and did not follow the rules of the Election Commission including filing income tax returns.
- Delisting:
- The Election Commission of India has temporarily delisted 22 parties from the list of registered political parties.

- At the Asian Teams Squash Championship held in South Korea
- The Indian men’s team won.
- This is the first time that India, who has won silver twice before in the tournament, will win gold.
- In the final match, the Indian team consisting of Sourav Ghoshal, Ramat Tandon, and Abhaisingh defeated Kuwait 2-0.

1. Committee to strengthen accreditation process for higher education institutions
- Officials said the Union Education Ministry has constituted a high-level committee to strengthen the process of accreditation of higher education institutions.
- IIT Kanpur is chaired by K. Radhakrishnan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chairman of the IIT Council Standing Committee.
- This High-Level Panel consists of:-
- Assam Mahapurusha Srimad Shankaradeva,
- Vishwa Vidyalaya Vice-Chancellor Myrdul Hazarika,
- Professor Bharat Bhaskar, IIM Lucknow,
- Joint Secretary, Higher Education, Union Ministry of Education.
- This high-level committee has been set up to strengthen the process of inspection and accreditation of higher education institutions and lay down procedures for the National Accreditation Council as mentioned in the National Education Policy.

- Zareen Dakar (20) from Meghalaya has been selected as Miss North East India.

- University Grants Commission (UGC) Secretary Rajnish Jain, in a circular to all higher education institutions, said:
- As per the National Education Policy, the Young Writers Promotion Scheme (YUVA), was introduced by the Union Ministry of Education last year.
- The Yuva-2.0 program for the current academic year (2022-23) has been implemented under the theme ‘Jana Nayakam’.
- Under this scheme, young writers below 30 years of age are encouraged to write in various forms including essay, poetry, story, drama, travelogue.
