1. தகைசால் விருது
- சுதந்திர தினத்தின்போது தமிழக அரசால் வழங்கப்பட்ட தகைசால் தமிழர் விருதுக்கான ரூபாய் 10 லட்சத்துடன் தனது சேமிப்பிலிருந்து ரூபாய் 5000 சேர்த்து முதல்வரின் பொது நிவாரண நிதிக்கு வழங்கினார் மூத்த கம்யூனிஸ்ட் தலைவர் நல்லகண்ணு.
2. 160 ஆவது ஆண்டு தினம்
- சுதந்திர தினத்தை ஒட்டி சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் தேசியக்கொடி ஏற்றி வைத்து தலைமை நீதிபதி முனிஸ்வர்நாத் பண்டாரி மரியாதை செலுத்தியதுடன் நீதிமன்றத்தின் 160 ஆவது ஆண்டு தினத்தை ஒட்டி சிறப்பு தபால் தலையையும்வெளியிட்டார்.
- 1862 ஆம் ஆண்டு தொடங்கப்பட்ட சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தின் 160 வது ஆண்டு நினைவு போற்றும் வகையில் சிறப்பு தபால் தலையை தலைமை நீதிபதி வெளியிட உயர் நீதிமன்ற மூத்த நீதிபதி துரைசாமி பெற்றுக்கொண்டார்.
3. அமுதப் பெருவிழா பூங்கா
- சென்னை திருவான்மியூர் ரயில் நிலையத்தை ஒட்டிய பக்கிங்ஹாம் கால்வாய் கரையில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள பூங்காவுக்கு சுதந்திர திருநாள் அமுதப் பெருவிழா பூங்கா என பெயரிட்டு அதை திறந்து வைத்தார் முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின்.
4. மகாத்மா சிலை
- சென்னை எழும்பூர் அருங்காட்சியக வளாகத்தில் மகாத்மா காந்தியடிகள் சிலையை முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் திறந்து வைத்தார்.
- காந்தியடிகள் தனது வாழ்நாளில் 20 முறை தமிழகம் வந்தார்.
- ஔவை மூதாட்டியை ‘ஔவை மதர்’ என்று அழைத்தார்.
- ஒத்துழையாமை இயக்கத்துக்கான அறிவிப்பை சென்னையில் இருந்து கொண்டு இந்தியா முழுமைக்கும் அறிவித்தார்.
- அவரது வாழ்க்கையில் மிக முக்கியமான முடிவான அரையாடை அணிவது என்பதையும் தமிழ்நாட்டில் குறிப்பாக மதுரை மண்ணில் இருந்து தான் காந்தியடிகள் எடுத்தார்.
- 1921 ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 22ஆம் தேதியுடன் இந்த நிகழ்வு நடந்து 100 ஆண்டுகள் ஆகிவிட்டது.
- இதன் அடையாளமாக சென்னை அருங்காட்சியகம் வளாகத்தில் காந்தியடிகளின் நினைவுச் சிலை அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
5. சுதந்திர தினம்: பல்வேறு விருதுகள்
- அறிவியல் தொழில்நுட்பத்தில் சிறப்பான பங்களிப்பைச் செய்த முனைவர் ச.இஞ்ஞாசி முத்துவுக்கு, டாக்டர் ஆ.பா.ஜெ.அப்துல்கலாம் விருதினை முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் அளித்தார்.
- உயர் தொழில்நுட்பம், நாட்டார் மருந்தியல் மற்றும் பூச்சியியல் ஆகிய துறைகளில் இளம் விஞ்ஞானிகளின் குழுவை உருவாக்கியுள்ளார்.
- விஞ்ஞான ஆராய்ச்சியின் மீதான தனது ஆர்வத்தை ஊக்கத்துடனும், உறுதியுடனும் செய்ய முடியும் என்பதை நிரூபித்துள்ளார்.
- துணிவு மற்றும் சாகச செயலுக்கான கல்பனாசாவ்லா விருதினை நாகப்பட்டினம் மாவட்டம் கீழ்வேலூரை சேர்ந்த பா.எழிலரசி பெற்றார்.
- கும்பகோணத்தில் கோயில் குளத்தில் நீரில் மூழ்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த மூன்று குழந்தைகளின் உயிரை நீச்சல் தெரியாத நிலையிலும் குளத்தில் குதித்து அவர்களை துணிச்சலுடன் காப்பாற்றினார்.
- ‘உங்கள் தொகுதியில் முதல்வர்’ விருதானது, முதல்வரின் முகவரி துறையில் குறை தீர்வு மேற்பார்வை அலுவலராக பணியாற்றி வரும் லட்சுமி பிரியாவுக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்டது.
- முதல்வரின் முகவரித்துறை இணையதள முகப்பானது எளிதில் அணுகும் வகையிலும், மக்களின் குறைகளை களையும் விதத்தில் இருப்பதாலும் லட்சுமி பிரியா விருதுக்கு தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டார்.
- முதலமைச்சரின் நல் ஆளுமை விருது:
- திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டத்தில் கொத்தடிமை தொழிலாளர்களை மீட்டு மறுவாழ்வு அளித்த சிறப்பான செயலை பாராட்டி அந்த மாவட்ட ஆட்சியருக்கும்,
- திருநங்கைகளின் வாழ்வில் நம்பிக்கையூட்டி அவர்களது அடிப்படை தேவைகளை பூர்த்தி செய்த பணிகளுக்காக செங்கல்பட்டு மாவட்ட சமூக நல அலுவலகத்துக்கும் முதலமைச்சரின் நல்ல ஆளுமை விருது அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
- மழைநீர் சேகரிப்பு கட்டமைப்புகளை சிறப்பாக செயல்படுத்தியதற்காக திண்டுக்கல் மாவட்டம்,
- நீர்நிலைகளை மீட்டுருவாக்கி புனரமைப்பு செய்த பணிகளுக்காக சிவகங்கை மாவட்டம்,
- கருவுற்றதாய்மார்களின் உடல் நலனை தொழில்நுட்ப உதவியுடன் கண்காணிக்கும் தாய்க்கேர் நெல்லை திட்டத்தை அறிமுகப்படுத்திய திருநெல்வேலி மாவட்டத்திற்கும் நல் ஆளுமை விருதுகள் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தன.

6. அரசு ஊழியர்களுக்கு 3 சதவீதம் அகவிலைப்படி உயர்வு
- சென்னை தலைமைச் செயலகம் அமைந்துள்ள கோட்டை கொத்தளத்தில் தமிழக அரசு சார்பில் சுதந்திர தின விழா நடைபெற்றது.
- அங்கு தேசிய கொடியை ஏற்றி வைத்து முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் உரையாற்றினார்.
- சுதந்திர தின அருங்காட்சியகம்:
- சுதந்திர தின அருங்காட்சியகம் ஒன்று சென்னையில் அமைக்கப்படும் என்றார்.
- அகவிலைப்படி உயர்வு:
- சுதந்திர போராட்ட வீரர்களுக்கான மாதாந்திர ஓய்வூதியத் தொகை ரூபாய் 18 ஆயிரத்திலிருந்து ரூபாய் 20000 உயர்த்தப்படும்.
- குடும்ப ஓய்வூதியமாக ரூபாய் 9000 திலிருந்து ரூபாய் 10 ஆயிரமாக அதிகரித்து வழங்கப்படும்.
- அரசு அலுவலர்கள்,ஓய்வூதியதாரர்கள், குடும்ப ஓய்வூதியதாரர்களுக்குஅகவிலைப்படியானது 31 சதவீதத்திலிருந்து 34 சதவீதமாக உயர்த்தி அளிக்கப்படும்.

1. 76 ஆவது சுதந்திர தினம்
- நாட்டின் 76 வது சுதந்திர தினம் நாடு முழுவதும் வெகு சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்பட்டது.
- செங்கோட்டையில் பிரதமர் மோடி தொடர்ந்து ஒன்பதாவது ஆண்டாக தேசிய கொடியை ஏற்றினார்.
- சுமார் 82 நிமிடங்களுக்கு உரையாற்றிய பிரதமர் மோடி சுதந்திர போராட்ட வீரர்கள் பலரை நினைவு கூர்ந்தார்.
- அப்போது தமிழகத்தை சேர்ந்த வேலுநாச்சியார், சுப்பிரமணிய பாரதியார் உள்ளிட்டோரையும் அவர் குறிப்பிட்டார்.
2. மூக்கு வழியாக செலுத்தும் கரோனா தடுப்பு மருந்து பரிசோதனை வெற்றி
- கரோனாவுக்கு தடுப்பூசி மருந்தாக பாரத் பயோடெக் நிறுவனம் தயாரித்துள்ள மூக்கு வழியே செலுத்தக்க ‘பிபிவி 154’ என்ற தடுப்பு மருந்தின் மூன்றாம் கட்ட மருத்துவ பரிசோதனை முடிவுற்றது.
- அந்த மருந்து பாதுகாப்பானது என நிரூபணம் ஆகி உள்ளது.
- இந்த தடுப்பு மருந்தை பாரத் பயோடெக் நிறுவனம், வாஷிங்டன் பல்கலைகழகம் சென்ட் லூயிஸுடன் இணைந்து தயாரித்துள்ளது.
- இந்த மருந்தைதயாரிப்பதற்கும், மருத்துவ பரிசோதனைக்கும் பகுதி நிதியை மத்திய அரசு தனது உயிரி தொழில்நுட்பத்துறையின் கீழ் செயல்படும் கரோனா சுரக்ஷா திட்டத்தின் மூலம் வழங்கி இருந்தது.
3. இலங்கை கடற்படைக்கு‘டோர்னியர்’விமானம்: இந்தியா நன்கொடை
- இலங்கை கடற்படையின் கடல்சார் கண்காணிப்பை வலுப்படுத்தும் விதமாக ‘டோர்னியர் 228’ ரக விமானத்தை இந்தியா நன்கொடையாக வழங்கியது.

1. Thakaisal Award
- Veteran Communist leader Nallakannu donated Rs 5000 from his savings to the Chief Minister’s General Relief Fund along with Rs 10 lakh for the Thakaisal Tamil Award given by the Tamil Nadu government on Independence Day.
2. 160th Anniversary Day
- Chief Justice Muniswarnath Bhandari paid homage by hoisting the national flag at Madras High Court on the occasion of Independence Day and also released a special postage stamp on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the court.
- Senior High Court Judge Duraisamy got the Chief Justice to issue a special stamp commemorating the 160th anniversary of the Madras High Court which was established in 1862.
3. Amudhap Peruvizha Park
- Chief Minister M.K.Stalin named the park on the bank of Buckingham Canal adjacent to Chennai Thiruvanmiyur Railway Station as the Independence Thirunal Amuta Peruvizha Park.
4. Statue of Mahatma
- Chief Minister M.K.Stalin inaugurated the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Egmore Museum Complex, Chennai.
- Gandhiji came to Tamil Nadu 20 times in his lifetime.
- Auwai called the old woman as ‘Auwai Mother’.
- He announced the Non-Cooperation Movement from Chennai to the whole of India.
- It was from the soil of Tamil Nadu, especially Madurai that Gandhiji took the most important decision in his life to wear half-dress.
- It has been 100 years since this event took place on 22 September 1921.
- As a symbol of this, a memorial statue of Gandhiji has been erected in the Chennai Museum premises.
5. Independence Day: Various Awards
- Chief Minister M. K. Stalin presented the Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Award to Dr. S. Engnasi Muthu for his outstanding contribution to science and technology.
- Created a team of young scientists in the fields of high technology, narcotics and entomology.
- Has demonstrated his passion for scientific research with enthusiasm and determination.
- Kalpanasavla Award for Courage and Adventure was won by P.Ezhilarasi from Kilvellur, Nagapattinam District.
- He bravely saved the lives of three children who were drowning in the temple pond at Kumbakonam by jumping into the pond despite not knowing how to swim.
- ‘Ungal thoguthiyil muthalvar’ award was given to Lakshmi Priya who is working as Grievance Redressal Supervisory Officer in Chief Minister’s Address Department.
- Lakshmi Priya was selected for the award because the website of the Chief Minister’s Department is easily accessible and addresses people’s grievances.
- Chief Minister’s Good Personality Award:
- Appreciating the excellent work of rescuing and rehabilitating the bonded laborers in Tiruvallur district, the district collector,
- The Chief Minister’s Good Governance Award was also announced to the Chengalpattu District Social Welfare Office for its work of providing hope in the lives of transgenders and fulfilling their basic needs.
- Dindigul District for better implementation of rain water harvesting structures,
- Sivagangai District for restoration and reconstruction of water bodies,

- The Chennai Metropolitan Police Department is also working on a plan to keep the differently abled, mentally challenged elderly and women in shelters and bury the bodies of the unclaimed dead with due respect.
- Good Governance Award of Chennai Metropolitan Police Commission was announced in recognition of this work.

6. 3 percent increase in gratuity for government employees
- Tamil Nadu Government organized an Independence Day function at Kottai Kothalam, where the Chennai Chief Secretariat is located.
- CM Stalin addressed by hoisting the national flag there.
- Independence Day Museum:
- He said that an Independence Day Museum would be set up in Chennai.
- Increase in cost:
- The monthly pension for freedom fighters will be increased from Rs 18 thousand to Rs 20000.
- Family pension will be increased from Rs 9000 to Rs 10 thousand.
- Subsidy for government employees, pensioners and family pensioners will be increased from 31 percent to 34 percent.

1. 76th Independence Day
- The 76th Independence Day of the country was celebrated with great pomp across the country.
- Prime Minister Modi hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort for the ninth consecutive year.

2. Nasal anti-coronavirus trial success
- The third phase clinical trial of the nasal vaccine ‘PPV 154’ manufactured by Bharat Biotech as a vaccine against Corona has ended.
- The drug has been proven to be safe.
- This vaccine is developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with Washington University St. Louis.
- The central government had provided partial funding for the development and clinical trials of this drug through the Corona Suraksha scheme under its Department of Biotechnology.
3. ‘Tornier’ aircraft to Sri Lanka Navy: India donates
- India donated ‘Tornier 228’ aircraft to strengthen maritime surveillance of Sri Lankan Navy.
