- சென்னை மாநகராட்சி பள்ளியில் 100 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னரே காலை உணவு திட்டம் நடைமுறைக்கு வந்தது. சென்னை மாகாண சட்ட மேலவை உறுப்பினராக இருந்த எல்.சி.குருசாமி பள்ளி செல்லும் குழந்தைகளுக்கு உணவு அளிப்பதன் அவசியத்தை வலியுறுத்தினார். இதையடுத்து சென்னை மாநகராட்சி பள்ளிகளில் அப்போதைய மேயராக இருந்த சர்.பிட்டி.தியாகராயர் செயல்படுத்தி இருந்தார். இதனை பாராட்டி சர்.பிட்டி.தியாகராயருக்கு அமைக்கப்பட்ட நினைவு கல்வெட்டை முதல்வர் ஸ்டாலின் நேற்று (14.5.2022) திறந்து வைத்தார்.
