1. பிரெஞ்சு ஓபன் டென்னிஸில் ஸ்பெயினின் ரபேல் நடால் 14-வது முறையாக சாம்பியன் பட்டம் வென்றார். இதன்மூலம் அவர் பல்வேறு சாதனைகளைப் பதிவு செய்துள்ளார். பிரான்ஸின் பாரீஸ் நகரில் நடைபெற்று வந்த இந்தத் தொடரில் ஆடவருக்கான ஒற்றையர் பிரிவு இறுதி சுற்றில் 5-ம் நிலை வீரரான ஸ்பெயினின் ரபேல் நடால், 8-ம் நிலை வீரரான நார்வே நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த காஸ்பர் ரூடை எதிர்த்து விளையாடினார். இதில் ரபேல் நடால் 6-3, 6-3, 6-0 என்ற செட் கணக்கில் வெற்றி பெற்று சாம்பியன் பட்டம் வென்றார். இந்த ஆட்டம் சுமார் 2 மணி நேரம் 18 நிமிடங்கள் நடைபெற்றது. பிரெஞ்சு ஓபனில் நடால் பட்டம் வெல்வது இது 14-வது முறையாகும். ஒட்டுமொத்தமாக அவர் கைப்பற்றும் 22-வது கிராண்ட் ஸ்லாம் பட்டம் இதுவாக அமைந்தது
2. சென்னையில் பல்வேறு அரசுத் துறைகள் சார்பில் உலக சுற்றுச்சூழல் தினவிழா நேற்று கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. விழாவை மரக்கன்றுகளை நட்டும், மஞ்சப்பைகளை வழங்கியும் கொண்டாடினர். ஆண்டுதோறும் ஜூன் 5-ம் தேதி உலக சுற்றுச்சூழல் தின விழாவாக கொண்டாடப்பட்டு வருகிறது. இந்த ஆண்டும் நேற்று பல்வேறு அரசுத் துறைகள் சார்பில் சுற்றுச்சூழல் தினவிழா கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. சென்னை ஆளுநர் மாளிகையில் ஆளுநர் ஆர்.என்.ரவி முன்னிலையில் நடைபெற்ற உலக சுற்றுச்சூழல் தின நிகழ்ச்சியில் அவரது மனைவி லட்சுமி பங்கேற்று வளாகத்தில் மரக்கன்றுகளை நட்டார். முதல்வர் ஸ்டாலின் வெளியிட்டுள்ள உலக சுற்றுச்சூழல் தின வாழ்த்து செய்தியில் “மீண்டும் மஞ்சப்பை, பசுமைத் தமிழகம் இயக்கம், முதல்முறையாக தமிழ்நாடு பசுமை சுற்றுச்சூழல் நிறுவனம் (Tamil Nadu Green Climate Company) என்னும் சிறப்பு நோக்க வாகனம் உள்ளிட்ட பல இயற்கைப் பாதுகாப்பு முன்னெடுப்புகளைத் தமிழ்நாடு அரசு தொடங்கியுள்ளது. உலகச் சுற்றுச்சூழல் நாளில் நமக்கு இருப்பது ஒரே உலகம் என்பதை மனதில்கொண்டு, அனைத்து வகையிலும் அதைக் காக்கப் பாடுபடுவோம்” என குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார். தமிழ்நாடு மாசுக் கட்டுப்பாட்டு வாரியம் சார்பில், கிண்டியில் உள்ள தலைமை அலுவலகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற சுற்றுச்சூழல் தின விழாவில், சுற்றுச்சூழல் துறை அமைச்சர் சிவ.வீ.மெய்யநாதன் பங்கேற்று, பசுமைப் பயணமாக பள்ளிக்கு மாணவர்கள் வருவதை ஊக்குவிக்கும் பள்ளிகளுக்கு பாராட்டுச் சான்றிதழ்களை வழங்கினார். நிகழ்ச்சியில் வாரியத் தலைவர் ஏ.உதயன், உறுப்பினர் செயலர் கண்ணன் உள்ளிட்டோர் கலந்துகொண்டனர். சுற்றுச்சூழல் மற்றும் வனத் துறை சார்பில் கோயம்பேடு மலர் அங்காடி வளாகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற சுற்றுச்சூழல் தின விழாவில் ரூ.10 நாணயத்தை செலுத்தினால் மஞ்சப்பை வழங்கும் இயந்திரத்தின் சேவையை துறை செயலர் சுப்ரியா சாஹூ தொடங்கிவைத்தார். இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் மாநகாரட்சி துணை ஆணையர் எஸ்.மனிஷ், சிஎம்டிஏ உறுப்பினர் செயலர் அன்சுல் மிஸ்ரா, கோயம்பேடு சந்தை தலைமை நிர்வாக அதிகாரி எஸ்.சாந்தி உள்ளிட்டோர் கலந்துகொண்டனர். சுற்றுச்சூழல் துறை மற்றும் பொலுகேர் இன்ஜினியர்ஸ் இந்தியா சார்பில் சென்னை பெசன்ட் நகர் எலியட்ஸ் கடற்கரையில் நடைபெற்ற உலக சுற்றுச்சூழல் தின விழிப்புணர்வு நடைபயணத்தை சுகாதாரத் துறை அமைச்சர் மா.சுப்பிரமணியன், சுற்றுச்சூழல் துறை அமைச்சர் சிவ.வீ.மெய்யநாதன் ஆகியோர் பங்கேற்று தொடங்கி வைத்தனர். தொடர்ந்து கடற்கரைக்கு வந்த பொதுமக்களுக்கு மஞ்சப்பைகளை வழங்கி, பிளாஸ்டிக் பைகள் பயன்படுத்துவதை தவிர்க்குமாறு விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்தினர். இந்நிகழ்ச்சியில் காங்கிரஸ் எம்எல்ஏ ஜே.எம்.எச்.அசன் மவுலானா உள்ளிட்டோர் கலந்துகொண்டனர். சென்னை துறைமுக நிர்வாகம் சார்பில், அதன் வளாகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்ச்சியில் துறைமுக ஆணையத் தலைவர் சுனில் பாலிவால் பங்கேற்று மரக்கன்றுகளை நட்டார். அடுத்த 2 ஆண்டுகளில் துறைமுக வளாகத்தில் 15 ஆயிரம் மரக்கன்றுகளை நட நிகழ்ச்சியில் முடிவெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. வண்டலூர் உயிரியல் பூங்காவில் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்ச்சியில் பூங்கா இயக்குநர் நிவாஸ் ஆர்.ரெட்டி தலைமையில் 350 பூங்கா பணியாளர்களும் தலா ஒரு மரக்கன்றை நடவு செய்தனர்.
3. பெட்ரோலில் 10% எத்தனால் கலப்பு இலக்கு நிறைவேறியது. கடந்த 2018-இல் அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட ‘உயிரி எரிபொருள் மீதான தேசியக் கொள்கை’ 2030-ஆம் ஆண்டுக்குள் பெட்ரோலில் 20% எத்தனால் கலப்பதை இலக்காகக் கொண்டிருந்தது. பின்னா், இந்த இலக்கை முன்கூட்டியே அடையும் நோக்கில், 2025-26-க்கு மாற்றியமைக்கப்பட்டது.

6. வண்டலூர் பூங்காவில் இனி பிளாஸ்டிக் பாட்டீலுக்கும் நுழைவுக்கட்டணம் வசூலிக்கப்படும் என்று தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
