- மத்திய நிதியமைச்சர் நிர்மலா சீதாராமன் தலைமையில் ஜிஎஸ்டி கவுன்சிலின் 47 வது கூட்டம் சண்டிகரில் துவங்கி நடைபெற்றது. சண்டிகரில் நேற்றும், இன்றும் நடைபெற்ற கூட்டத்தல் பல பொருட்கள் மீதான வரியை உயர்த்த ஒப்புதல் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. எல்இடி விளக்குகள், பேனா மை, கத்தி, பிளேடு உள்ளிட்டவற்றுக்கான ஜிஎஸ்டி வரி அதிகரிக்க ஒப்புதல் அளிக்கப்பட்டது. அதன்படி எல்இடி விளக்குகளுக்கான ஜிஎஸ்டி வரி 12 சதவீதத்தில் இருந்து 18 சதவீதமாக அதிகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. கிரைண்டர், அரிசி ஆலை இயந்திரங்களுக்கான வரி 5 சதவீதத்தில் இருந்து 18 சதவீதமாகவும் அதிகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதேப் போன்று பேனா மை, கத்தி, பிளேடு ஸ்பூன்களுக்கு ஜிஎஸ்டி வரியும் அதிகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த ஜிஎஸ்டி கூட்டத்தின் முடிவில் ஜிஎஸ்டி கவுன்சிலின் அடுத்த கூட்டம் ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் மதுரையில் நடைபெறும் அறிவித்தார். இந்நிலையில் மதுரையில் ஜிஎஸ்டி கவுன்சில் நடைபெறும் என்று அறிவித்த மத்திய நிதி அமைச்சர் நிர்மலா சீதாராமனுக்கு ட்விட்டரில் முதல்வர் ஸ்டாலின் நன்றி தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
- ஒவ்வோர் ஆண்டும் ஆஸ்கர் விருது குழுவில் உறுப்பினராக சேர பல்வேறு நாடுகளைச் சேர்ந்த கலைஞர்கள் அழைக்கப்படுவார்கள். அந்த வகையில் 2022-ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான புதிய உறுப்பினர்களை சேர்ப்பது தொடர்பான பட்டியலை ஆஸ்கர் வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. அதன்படி, அகாடமி ஆஃப் மோஷன் பிக்சர் ஆர்ட்ஸ் அண்ட் சயின்சஸ் நிறுவனத்தில் சேர 397 புகழ்பெற்ற கலைஞர்கள் மற்றும் நிர்வாகிகளுக்கு அழைப்பு விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதில் நடிகர்களின் பட்டியலில் சூர்யா இடம்பெற்றுள்ளார். ஆஸ்கர் அகாடமி அமைப்பின் உறுப்பினராக சேர சூர்யாவிற்கு அழைப்பு விடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது, ஆஸ்கர் விருது கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் குழுவில் உறுப்பினராக சேர நடிகர் சூர்யாவிற்கு அழைப்பு விடுக்கப்பட்டதையடுத்து அவருக்கு முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் தனது வாழ்த்துகளை தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
- உள்நாட்டிலேயே உருவாக்கப்பட்ட ‘அப்யாஸ்’ அதிவேகமாக வான்வழி இலக்கு வாகனம் (ஹீட்) ஒடிஸா கடற்கரையில் உள்ள சந்திப்பூா் ஒருங்கிணைந்த சோதனை மையத்திலிருந்து (ஐடிஆா்) ஏவப்பட்டு புதன்கிழமை வெற்றிகரமாக பரிசோதனை செய்யப்பட்டது.
- வெளிநாட்டு மாணவர்கள் படிக்க விரும்பும் உலக நகரங்களின் க்யூஎஸ் பட்டியலில், இந்தியாவின் மும்பை நகரம் 103 வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது. அதைத் தொடர்ந்து பெங்களூரு 114வது இடத்தில் உள்ளது. மேலும் பட்டியலில் இந்த ஆண்டு சென்னை (125வது இடம்) மற்றும் டெல்லி (129 வது இடம்) ஆகிய இரண்டு நகரங்கள் புதிதாக இணைந்துள்ளது. இதனால் இப்பட்டியலில் இணைந்துள்ள நகரங்களின் எண்ணிக்கை 4 ஆக உயர்ந்துள்ளது.
- ‘நேட்டோ உறுப்பு நாடுகளுக்கு ரஷியா நேரடி அச்சுறுத்தல்’ என்று அந்த அமைப்பு புதன்கிழமை பிரகடனம் செய்தது. இது குறித்து அசோசியேட்டட் பிரஸ் செய்தி நிறுவனம் தெரிவித்துள்ளதாவது:30 உறுப்பு நாடுகளைக் கொண்ட நேட்டோ அமைப்பின் மாநாடு ஸ்பெயின் தலைநகா் மேட்ரிடில் புதன்கிழமை நடைபெற்றது. அந்த மாநாட்டில் அமெரிக்க அதிபா் ஜோ பைடன் உள்ளிட்ட முக்கியத் தலைவா்கள் பங்கேற்றனா்.அதில், ‘நேட்டோ உறுப்பு நாடுகளின் தலையாய மற்றும் நேரடி அச்சுறுத்தலாக ரஷியா திகழ்கிறது’ என்ற பிரகடனப்படுத்தப்பட்டது.
- இந்திய விண்வெளி ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனம் (ISRO) இன்று மாலை02 மணிக்கு மூன்று சிங்கப்பூர் செயற்கைக்கோள்களை சுமந்து கொண்டு PSLV-C53 ராக்கெட்டை விண்ணில் செலுத்த உள்ளது. ஏவுகணை வாகனம் ஸ்ரீஹரிகோட்டாவில் உள்ள சதீஷ் தவான் விண்வெளி மையத்தில் இருந்து புறப்படும். நேற்று மாலை தொடங்கிய இந்தப் பணிக்கான 25 மணி நேர கவுன்ட் டவுன் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. இந்தியாவின் இரண்டு தனியார் ஸ்பேஸ் ஸ்டார்ட் அப் நிறுவனங்களைச் சேர்ந்த ஆறு நானோ செயற்கைக்கோள்களும் இன்றைய பயணத்தில் விண்வெளிக்குச் செல்லும்.

- The 47th meeting of the GST Council chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman began in Chandigarh. - The domestically-developed ‘Abyss’ high-speed aerial target vehicle (HEAT) was successfully tested on Wednesday at the Junction Integrated Testing Center (IDO) off the coast of Odisha.
- Mumbai, India is ranked 103rd in the QS list of world cities where foreign students want to study. It is followed by Bangalore at 114th position. Also on the list this year are two new cities, Chennai (125th) and Delhi (129th). This brings the number of cities included in the list to 4.
- The group declared on Wednesday that “Russia is a direct threat to NATO member states.” According to the Associated Press, the 30-nation NATO summit was held in Madrid, Spain on Wednesday. The conference was attended by key leaders, including US President Joe Biden, who declared that “Russia poses a major and direct threat to NATO member states.”
- Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is set to launch the rocket PSLV-C53, carrying three Singapore satellites at 6.02 pm today. The launch vehicle will lift off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota. The 25 hours countdown for the mission that began yesterday evening is progressing well. Six nano-satellites including those belonging to India’s two private space start-ups also will go to space, in today’s mission.
- The Union government on Wednesday extended the tenure of Attorney General KK Venugopal by three months. The notification issued by the Union law ministry stated that Venugopal will continue to hold the post of country’s top law officer for three months from July 1 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
