தற்போது நடைபெற்ற 15-வது குடியரசுத் தலைவர் தேர்தலில், பா.ஜ.க வேட்பாளராகக் களமிறக்கப்பட்ட திரௌபதி முர்மு அமோக வெற்றிபெற்றிருக்கிறார். இந்த வெற்றியின் மூலம் இந்தியாவின் முதல் பழங்குடியினத்தைச் சேர்ந்த குடியரசுத் தலைவர் என்ற புகழைப் பெற்றிருக்கிறார். வரும் ஜூலை 25-ம் தேதி இந்தியாவின் புதிய குடியரசுத் தலைவராக பதவியேற்கவிருக்கிறார்.

இந்திய வம்சாவளியை சேர்ந்த பேராசிரியர் கௌசிக் ராஜசேகராவுக்கு மதிப்பு மிக்க சர்வதேச எரிசக்தி விருது கிடைத்துள்ளது. கௌசிக் ராஜசேகரா, ஹீஸ்டன் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் பேராசிரியராக பணியாற்றி வருகிறார்.
- தகவல் தொழில்நுட்பவியல் பெயர் மாற்றம்
தகவல் தொழில்நுட்பவியல் துறையை “தகவல் தொழில்நுட்பம் மற்றும் டிஜிட்டல் சேவைகள் துறை” என பெயர் மாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. மாநிலத்தில் தகவல் தொழில்நுட்பம், தகவல் தொழில்நுட்பம் சார்ந்த சேவைகள் மற்றும் டிஜிட்டல் தொழில்நுட்பச் சேவைகளின் வளர்ச்சியை வலுப்படுத்த இத்துறை, “தகவல் தொழில்நுட்பவியல் மற்றும் டிஜிட்டல் சேவைகள் துறை” என மறுபெயரிடப்படும் என்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்டு உள்ளது.

மணலி மற்றும் திருவொற்றியூர் பகுதிகளில் வாயு கசிவு ஏற்படுவதற்கான காரணம் கட்டுப்படுத்துவற்கான வழிமுறைகள் குறித்து ஆய்வு நடத்த 5 வல்லுநர்கள் கொண்ட தொழில்நுட்ப குழு அமைத்து தமிழக அரசு உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது. விஞ்ஞானி-இந்திய விண்வெளி ஆராய்ச்சி மையத்தை சேர்ந்த டாக்டர்கள் கோகுல் மற்றும் சிவதாணு பிள்ளை, சென்னை, விஞ்ஞானி-இ, மண்டல இயக்குநர், மத்திய மாசு கட்டுப்பாடு வாரியம் டாக்டர் எச்.டி.வரலட்சுமி, மெட்ராஸ், இந்திய தொழில்நுட்ப நிறுவனம், சுற்றுச்சூழல் மற்றும் நீர் வள ஆதார பொறியியல், கட்டட பொறியியல் துறை பேராசிரியர் டாக்டர் எஸ்.எம்.சிவ நாகேந்திரா, சென்னை, அண்ணாபல்கலைக்கழகம், வேதியியல் பொறியியல் துறை பேராசிரியர் டாக்டர்.என்.பாலசுப்பிரமணியன் ஆகியோர் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளனர்.

- முதல் மலேரியா தடுப்பூசி அறிமுகம்
பொதுமக்களுக்குச் செலுத்துவதற்காக அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள உலகின் முதல் கலோரா தடுப்பூசியை உலக சுகாதார அமைப்பு மாலாவி, கானா, கென்யா ஆகிய 3 ஆப்பிரிக்க நாடுகளில் அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது. கிளாக்ஸோஸ்மித்க்ளைன் நிறுவனத்தால் தயாரிக்கப்படும் ‘மஸ்கிரிக்ஸ்’ என்ற அந்தத் தடுப்பூசி 30 சதவீதம் மட்டும் மலேரியாவைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தும் திறன் கொண்டது. மேலும், அந்தத் தடுப்பூசியை 4 தவணைகள் செலுத்திக்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

The Department of Information Technology has been renamed as “Department of Information Technology and Digital Services”. It has been announced that the department will be renamed as “Department of Information Technology and Digital Services” to strengthen the development of IT, IT-based services and digital technology services in the state.

The Tamil Nadu government has ordered the formation of a technical committee of 5 experts to conduct a study on the causes of gas leakage in Manali and Tiruvottiyur areas. - Government Artificial Insemination Centre
On behalf of the Tamil Nadu government, Fertility Centers will be set up in Chennai and Trichy, Minister of People’s Welfare Subramanian said.
- Introduction of the first malaria vaccine
The World Health Organization has introduced the world’s first cholera vaccine approved for public administration in 3 African countries – Malawi, Ghana and Kenya. The vaccine, Muskrix, made by GlaxoSmithKline, is only 30 percent effective in controlling malaria. Also, the vaccine should be administered in 4 doses.
