• பல்லுயிர் மரபுத்தலங்கள் என்பது, சூழலியல் முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த நிலப்பரப்பு, கடலோர மற்றும் உள்ளூர் நீர்நிலைகள், பல்லுயிர் தன்மை மிக்க தாவர, விலங்கின சிற்றினங்களின் வாழ்விடங்கள், பரிணாம முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த சிற்றினங்களின் வாழ்விடங்கள் போன்றவற்றை பாதுகாக்கும் நோக்கத்திற்காக அமைக்கப்பட்டது.
• அந்த வகையில் மதுரை மாவட்டம் அரிட்டாபட்டி மற்றும் மீனாட்சிபுரம் கிராமங்களில் உள்ள 193,215 எக்டேர் பரப்பிலான பகுதியை  அரிட்டாபட்டி பல்லுயிர் பாரம்பரிய தலமாக தமிழகஅரசு அறிவித்துள்ளது.
• இது  மாநிலத்தின் முதல் பல்லுயிர் பாரம்பரியத்தலமாகும்.
• இங்குள்ள ஆனைகொண்டான் ஏரி, 16-ம் நூற்றாண்டில் பாண்டியர்களின் ஆட்சியில் கட்டப்பட்டது.

Vijay Hazare Cup Cricket Match

• Tamil Nadu won by 435 runs against Arunachal Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Cup cricket match. Through this game, many new records have been created by the Tamil Nadu team and team player Narayan Jagadeesan at the world level and at the Indian level.
• Tamil Nadu first scored 506 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 50 overs in this match held in Bangalore. Arunachal Pradesh, who bowled next, lost 10 wickets for 71 runs in 28.4 overs.

• Tamil Nadu player Narayan Jagatheesan scored 277 runs off 141 balls with 25 fours and 15 sixes to reach the highest individual score in men’s List A cricket (One Day) worldwide.
• Jagatheesan hit 15 sixes in this innings, the most sixes hit by a batsman in a single innings by Vijay Hazare so far.
• In this edition of Vijay Hazare tournament, Jagatheesan has scored 5 centuries out of 6 games so far. With this, he has also created the record of being the first cricketer in the history of List A cricket to score a century in 5 consecutive innings.
• Sai Sudarsan – Narayan Jagatheesan added 416 runs for the first wicket in Tamil Nadu innings. This is the highest partnership score in the history of List A cricket in the world.
• Tamil Nadu’s score (506/2) in this match is the highest by a domestic team in List A cricket.
• The Tamil Nadu team has also achieved a new world record for the highest margin of runs (435) in List A cricket.
