• இந்திய ஆன்மீகவாதி கிருபானந்த வாரியார் (1993), சுதந்திர போராட்ட வீரர் சி. சுப்பிரமணியம் (2000) ஆகியோரின் நினைவு தினம்.  
• இந்தியாவில் முதல் நோபல் பரிசு பெற்ற அறிவியல் மேதை பாரத ரத்னா சர். சந்திரசேகர வெங்கட ராமன் (1888), ரேடியம், பொலோனியம் தோரியம் போன்ற கதிர்வீச்சு தனிமங்களை கண்டுபிடித்தவரும், நோபல் பரிசு பெற்ற முதல் பெண்ணுமான மேரி கியூரி (1867) ஆகியோரின் பிறந்த தினம். 

மாநில செய்திகள் 

 1. அதிகரிக்கும் காசநோய் பரவல்: 

• தமிழகத்தில் நிகழாண்டு 77 ஆயிரம் பேர் காச நோயால் புதிதாக பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். இது கடந்த ஆண்டைக் காட்டிலும் 13 சதவீதம் அதிகம் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. 
• காசநோயை முழுமையாக ஒழிக்கும் நோக்கில் மத்திய, மாநில அரசுகள் பல்வேறு முயற்சிகளை முன்னெடுத்து வருகின்றன. அதுமட்டுமன்றி, 2025-க்குள் அந்நோயை முற்றிலும் ஒழிக்க வேண்டும் என்ற இலக்குடன் பல்வேறு திட்டங்கள் செயல்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன. 
• உத்தரப்பிரதேசத்தில் மட்டும் 4.27 லட்சத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் காசநோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். 

• தமிழகத்தில் 77,019 பேருக்கு அந்நோயின் பாதிப்பு இருந்தது. அவர்களில், தனியார் மருத்துவமனைகளில் 17,771 பேரும், அரசு மருத்துவமனைகளில் 60,048 பேரும் முதல்கட்ட சிகிச்சை பெற்றதாகத் தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன. 
• கடந்த ஆண்டு இதே காலகட்டத்தில் அந்த எண்ணிக்கை 13 சதவீதம் குறைவாக இருந்தது. அதாவது, அந்த காலகட்டத்தில் தமிழகத்தில் 69,171 பேர் காசநோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தனர். 

பயிற்சி 

 1. ஜப்பானில் சர்வதேச கடற்படை பயிற்சி 

• ஜப்பானில் சர்வதேச கடற்படை பயிற்சி தொடங்கியது. இதில் இந்தியா உள்பட 12 நாடுகளை சேர்ந்த போர்க்கப்பல்கள் பங்கேற்று உள்ளன. 
• அமெரிக்கா, கனடா இரண்டாம் உலக போரில் ஜப்பானின் தோல்வியை தொடர்ந்து உருவாக்கப்பட்ட கடற்படையின் 70–வது ஆண்டு நினைவு தினம் தற்போது அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. 

• இதையொட்டி சர்வதேச கடற்படை பயிற்சிக்கு ஜப்பான் ஏற்பாடு செய்தது. தலைநகர் டோக்கியோவுக்கு தெற்கே யோகோசுகாவில் உள்ள சுகாமி வளைகுடா பகுதியில் இந்த பயிற்சி நேற்று தொடங்கியது. 

• இன்றும் நடைபெறும் இந்த நிகழ்வில் இந்தியா, அமெரிக்கா, ஆஸ்திரேலியா, கனடா, நியூசிலாந்து, சிங்கப்பூர் உள்ளிட்ட 12 நாடுகளை சேர்ந்த 18 போர்க்கப்பல்கள் பங்கேற்று உள்ளன. மேலும் அமெரிக்கா மற்றும் பிரான்ஸ் நாடுகள் போர் விமானங்களையும் அனுப்பி உள்ளன. 
• கடந்த 20 ஆண்டுகளில் முதல் முறையாக ஜப்பான் நடத்தும் இந்த சர்வதேச கடற்பயிற்சியில் தென்கொரியா முதல் முறையாக கலந்து கொண்டுள்ளது. 

தரவரிசை 

 1. இந்தியாவுக்கு அதிக கச்சா எண்ணெய் ஏற்றுமதி: ரஷியா முதலிடம் 

• கடந்த அக்டோபர் மாதத்தில் இந்தியாவுக்கு அதிக கச்சாஎண்ணெய் ஏற்றுமதிசெய்த நாடுகள் பட்டியலில் ரஷியா முதலிடம் பிடித்துள்ளது. பல ஆண்டு காலமாக இந்தப் பட்டியலில் முன்னணியில் இருந்த சவூதி அரேபியா, இராக் ஆகிய நாடுகள் பின்தங்கியுள்ளன. 
• கடந்த 2022 மார்ச் மாத நிலவரப்படி இந்தியாவின் மொத்த கச்சா எண்ணெய் இறக்குமதியில் ரஷியாவின் பங்கு 0.2 சதவீதம் மட்டுமே இருந்து வந்தது.  
• இதுவே அக்டோபரில் ஒரு நாளைக்கு 9,35,556 பேரல் இறக்குமதி செய்யும் அளவுக்கு உயர்ந்துவிட்டது.  
• அக்டோபர் மாதத்தில் இந்தியாவின் ஒட்டுமொத்த கச்சா எண்ணெய் இறக்குமதியில் 22 சதவீதம் ரஷியாவில் இருந்து வந்துள்ளது.  

• இதற்கு அடுத்து இராக்கில் இருந்து 20.5 சதவீதம், சவூதி அரேபியாவில் இருந்து 16 சதவீதம் இறக்குமதியாகியுள்ளது. 

பொருளாதாரம் 

 1. சர்க்கரை ஏற்றுமதி வரம்பு 60 லட்சம் மெட்ரிக் டன் 

• சர்க்கரை விலை ஸ்திரத்தன்மை, ஆலைகளின் நிதி நிலை சமநிலைப்படுத்தல் ஆகியவற்றைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு அனைத்து சர்க்கரை ஆலைகளுக்கு 60 லட்சம் மெட்ரிக் டன் வரை ஏற்றுமதி ஒதுக்கீட்டை மத்திய வர்த்தகம், உணவு, நுகர்வோர் துறை நிர்ணயித்துள்ளது. 
• சர்க்கரையின் விலை ஸ்திரத்தன்மையையும், சர்க்கரை ஆலைகளின் நிதிநிலையையும் சமநிலைப்படுத்தும் வகையில் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படுகிறது. 
• அதன்படி, அடுத்த ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 30-ஆம் தேதி அடிப்படையிலான எதிர்பார்ப்பு உற்பத்தி நிலவரப்படி பயன்பாடு அளவு பிரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.  
• சுமார் 2.75 கோடி மெட்ரிக் டன் சர்க்கரை உள்நாட்டு உபயோகத்திற்காகவும், 50 லட்சம் மெட்ரிக் டன் சர்க்கரை எத்தனால் உற்பத்திக்கும் திருப்பிவிட மத்திய அரசு முன்னுரிமை அளிக்கும். 
• 2021-2022 சர்க்கரை பருவத்தில் இந்தியா 1.10 கோடி மெட்ரிக் டன் சர்க்கரையை ஏற்றுமதி செய்து, சர்வதேச அளவில் 2–ஆவது இடத்தை பெற்றிருந்தது.  

• 2021-22 கரும்பு பருவத்தில் 1.18 லட்சம் கோடி ரூபாய்க்கும் அதிகமான கரும்பு கொள்முதல் செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தது.  
• கடந்த அக்டோபர் 31 ஆம் தேதிக்குள் விவசாயிகளின் கரும்பு நிலுவைத் தொகையில் 96 சதவீதத்திற்கும் மேல் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.

State news 

   1. Increasing prevalence of tuberculosis: 

• 77,000 new cases of tuberculosis have been reported in Tamil Nadu this year. It is noteworthy that this is 13 percent more than last year. 
• Central and state governments are taking various initiatives to eradicate tuberculosis completely. Apart from that, various programs are being implemented with the aim of completely eradicating the disease by 2025. 
• In Uttar Pradesh alone, more than 4.27 lakh people are suffering from tuberculosis. 
• 77,019 people were affected by the disease in Tamil Nadu. Among them, 17,771 received primary care in private hospitals and 60,048 in government hospitals, according to the data. 

• That number was 13 percent lower than the same period last year. That is, 69,171 people were affected by tuberculosis in Tamil Nadu during that period. 

Exercise 

    1. International naval training in Japan 

• The international naval exercise started in Japan. Warships from 12 countries including India are participating in this. 
• The United States and Canada is currently observing the 70th anniversary of the Navy’s formation following Japan’s defeat in World War II. 
• In this regard, Japan organized an international naval exercise. The exercise began yesterday in the Tsunami Bay area of ​​Yokosuka, south of the capital Tokyo. 
• 18 warships from 12 countries including India, the USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Singapore are participating in this event which is still going on today. The US and France have also sent fighter jets. 
• For the first time in the past 20 years, South Korea has participated in this international maritime exercise conducted by Japan. 

Ranking 

   1. Largest crude oil exports to India: Russia tops 

• Russia topped the list of countries that exported the most crude oil to India last October. Saudi Arabia and Iraq, which have been leading the list for many years, are lagging behind. 

• As of March 2022, Russia’s share in India’s total crude oil imports was only 0.2 percent.  
• This has increased imports to 9,35,556 barrels per day in October. Russia accounted for 22 percent of India’s total crude oil imports in October.  
• After this, 20.5 percent was imported from Iraq and 16 percent from Saudi Arabia. 

Economy 

   1. The sugar export limit is 60 lakh metric tonnes 

• The Central Department of Commerce, Food and Consumer Affairs has fixed an export quota of up to 60 lakh metric tonnes for all sugar mills in view of sugar price stability and balancing of mills’ financial position. 
• The measures are taken to balance the price stability of sugar and the financial condition of sugar mills. 
• Accordingly, next year’s Usage is broken down by expected production status based on September 30. 

• The central government will give priority to the diversion of about 2.75 crore metric tonnes of sugar for domestic consumption and 50 lakh metric tonnes of sugar for ethanol production. 
• India during the 2021-2022 sugar season Exported 1.10 crore metric tonnes of sugar, it ranked 2nd globally. 
• During the 2021-22 sugarcane season, more than 1.18 lakh crores of sugarcane had been procured. 
• More than 96 percent of the sugarcane dues of the farmers have been disbursed till October 31.
