- சர்வதேசநீதிக்கானஉலகதினம்ஆண்டுதோறும்ஜூலை 17 அன்றுஅனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.
- அரசு மருத்துவமனைகளில் குடும்ப கட்டுப்பாடு காப்பீட்டு திட்டத்தின் கீழ் குடும்பக் கட்டுப்பாடு செய்து கொண்ட பெண் ஒரு வாரத்தில் இறந்துவிட்டால், அவரின் குடும்பத்திகு வழங்கப்பட்டு வந்த இழப்பீடு தொகை 2 லட்சம் ரூபாயில் இருந்து, 4 லட்சம் ரூபாயாக் உயர்த்தப்பட்டிருப்பதாகவும், ஒரு மாத காலத்திற்குள் இறந்தால் 50 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் இழப்பீடு என்பதை ஒரு லட்சம் ரூபாயாக உயர்த்தி இருப்பதாகவும், குடும்பக் கட்டுப்பாடு தோல்வி அடைந்தால் வழங்கப்படும் இழப்பீடு தொகையான 30 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயை 60 ஆயிரம் ரூபாயாக உயர்த்தி உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளதாக சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் தமிழக அரசு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
- தமிழ்நாடு நாள் (ஜூலை 18) திங்கட்கிழமை கொண்டாடப்படுவதை முன்னிட்டு தமிழ்நாடு உருவான வரலாறு தொடர்பான சுவரொட்டிகளை அனைத்து பள்ளிகளிலும் காட்சிப்படுத்த தமிழக அரசு உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளது. மறைந்த முதல்வர் பேரறிஞர் அண்ணாவால், மெட்ராஸ் மாகாணம் என்று இருந்ததை, கடந்த 1967 – ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 18 -ஆம் தேதி சட்டபேரவையில், தமிழ்நாடு என பெயர் மாற்றம் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டு தீர்மானமாக நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது. அண்ணாவால் தமிழ்நாடு என அறிவித்து தீர்மானமாக கொண்டுவரப்பட்ட அந்த நாள், தமிழ்நாடு நாளாக கொண்டாடப்படும் என தற்போதைய தமிழக முதல்வர் மு.க. ஸ்டாலின் அறிவித்தார். அந்த வகையில், தமிழ்நாடு நாள் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
- குடியரசுத் துணைத் தலைவர் தேர்தலுக்கான பாஜக வேட்பாளராக யார் அறிவிக்கப்படுவார்கள் என்ற பலத்த எதிர்பார்ப்பு எழுந்து நிலையில் மேற்கு மாநில ஆளுநரான ஜெகதீப் தன்கர் போட்டியிடுவார் என பாஜக ஆட்சி மன்ற குழு அறிவித்துள்ளது.

- World Day for International Justice is observed annually on 17 July every year
- If a woman undergoing family planning under the family planning insurance scheme in government hospitals dies within a week, the compensation given to her family has been increased from 2 lakh rupees to 4 lakh rupees, and if she dies within a month, the compensation has been increased from 50 thousand rupees to 1 lakh rupees. The Tamil Nadu government has informed the Madras High Court that it has ordered to increase the compensation amount from 30,000 rupees to 60,000 rupees.
- In view of the celebration of Tamil Nadu Day (July 18) on Monday, the Tamil Nadu government has ordered to display posters related to the history of the formation of Tamil Nadu in all schools. On 18th July 1967, the Madras Province was renamed as Tamil Nadu by the late Chief Minister Perarinjar Annawal. The present Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M.K. said that the day which was declared as Tamil Nadu by Anna, will be celebrated as Tamil Nadu Day. Stalin declared. In that way, Tamil Nadu Day is celebrated.
- The BJP ruling committee has announced that the governor of the western state, Jagdeep Dhankar, will be contesting amid strong expectations as to who will be announced as the BJP candidate for the vice-presidential election.
- Malayalam filmmaker KP Kumaran has been honoured with Kerala’s highest film award, the JC Daniel Award. Kumaran won the award for his contribution to the Malayalam film industry. The award comprises of a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, a citation, and a plaque.
