- “டூம்ப் ஆஃப் சாண்ட்” நாவலுக்காக முதன்முறையாக இந்திய எழுத்தர் கீதாஞ்சலி ஸ்ரீ-க்கு சர்வதேச புக்கர் விருது வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. “ரெட் சமாதி” என்று ஹிந்தியில் எழுதப்பட்ட இந்த நாவல் 80 வயது பெண் தனது பதின்ம பருவத்தில் இந்தியா – பாகிஸ்தான் பிரிவினையின்போது இன்னல்களை குறிப்பிடும் வகையில் இந்த நாவல் எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளது.

PICME இணையத்தளத்தில் கர்ப்பிணிகளின் விவரங்கள் கர்பப்பதிவு முதல் குழந்தை பிறந்து 5 ஆண்டுகள் வரை பதிவு உள்ளது. இந்த இணையத்தளம் ஏப்ரல் 2008-ம் ஆண்டு தேசிய தகவலியல் மையத்தால் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.

- Indian writer Gitanjali Sri has been awarded the International Booker Prize for the first time for her novel “Tomb of Sand”. Written in Hindi as “Red Samadhi”, the novel is about an 80-year-old woman who suffered during her teenage years during the Indo-Pakistani partition.
- The G7 countries are committed to ending the use of coal in the energy sector by 2035.
- It has been reported that senior political leaders have decided that the 21st Amendment Bill, which seeks to reduce the powers of the Sri Lankan president and give additional powers to parliament, will be passed soon.
- Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed in 9 districts in Tamil Nadu, including Salem, in the presence of Information Technology Minister Mano Thankaraj at the Chennai General Secretariat. Minister Mano Thankaraj said that all the 3001 panchayats in Villupuram, Erode, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Dharmapuri, Kallakurichi, Salem and Nilgiris districts will be able to avail broadband service through the Bharat project.
- Former Delhi Chief Minister Om Prakash Chaudhary has been sentenced to four years in jail and fined Rs 50 lakh by a Delhi CBI special court in a case of amassing wealth in excess of his income.

- At a function held in Chennai yesterday (27.5.2022), Health Minister Subramanian launched the facility for pregnant women to register their pregnancy on the PICME 2.0 website and get a rich number. Pregnancy details on the PICME website are recorded from pregnancy to birth to 5 years. This website was created in April 2008 by the National Center for Informatics.
