- ஒக்கி புயலால் சிக்கி கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட சினேரியஸ் வகை கழுகு சென்னையில் இருந்து ஜோத்பூருக்கு விமானம் மூலம் அனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்டது.
- சினேரியஸ் வகை கழுகானது அதிக தொலைவு இடம் பெயா்ந்தும், கூட்டமாக வாழும் ஒரு சமூகப் பறவையாகும். இந்தக் கழுகானது, ஒக்கி புயல் ஏற்பட்ட நேரத்தில் கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டம் ஆசாரிப்பள்ளத்தில் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டது.
- தற்போது இந்தக் கழுகு நல்ல நிலையில் இருப்பதால், இதை ராஜஸ்தான் மாநிலம் ஜோத்பூரில் நகரில் இருந்து 20 கி.மீ. தொலைவில் உள்ள கெரு என்ற இடத்தில் விட முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.

- மலையாள இலக்கிய வட்டாரத்தில் டி.பி. என்று அறியப்பட்ட ராஜீவன், கவிதை, நாவல், பயணநூல், திரைக்கதை உள்ளிட்ட இலக்கியத்தின் பல்வேறு தளங்களில் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க பங்காற்றியவர்.
- அவர் எழுதிய ‘பாலேரிமாணிக்கம்‘ என்னும் நாவல் அதே பெயரில் நடிகர் மம்மூட்டி நடிப்பில் திரைப்படமாக வெளிவந்தது.
- கே.டி.என். கோட்டூர்: எழுத்தும் ஜீவிதமும் என்ற நாவலுக்காக கேரள சாகித்ய அகாதெமி விருது அவருக்கு கடந்த 2014-இல் வழங்கப்பட்டது.
- கிரியாசேஷம், குஞ்ஞாலி மரக்கார் உள்ளிட்டவை அவரின் பிற முக்கியப் படைப்புகளாகும். இவர் தச்சம்பொயில்ராஜீவன் என்ற பெயரில் ஆங்கிலக் கவிதைகளையும் எழுதியுள்ளார்.

1. அப்துல் கலாமுக்கு அணுவிரத் புரஸ்கார் விருது
- மறைந்த முன்னாள் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் ஏ.பி.ஜெ. அப்துல் கலாமுக்கு ‘அணுவிரத் புரஸ்கார்’ விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது.
- ராஜஸ்தானைச் சேர்ந்த சுவாமி ஆச்சார்யா துளசி, அணுவிரத் என்ற தனியார் சேவை மையத்தை 1949ஆம் ஆண்டு தொடங்கினார்.
- உலக அமைதி, சமநிலைத் தன்மை, பூமி பாதுகாப்பு, ஜாதிமதபேதமின்மை உலகம் முழுவதும் வேண்டும் என்ற நோக்கத்துடன் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட இந்த மையத்தின் மூலம் பல்வேறு போதனைகளை உலகம் முழுவதும் பரந்து விரிந்து உணர்த்தி வருகின்றார்.
- இந்த அமைப்பை ஜெயின் சமூகத்தினார் இணைந்து வழிநடத்தி வருகின்றனர்

- முன்னாள் குடியரசுத் தலைவா் சங்கா் தயாள் சா்மா, இடைக்காலப் பிரதமராக இருந்த குல்சாரிலால் நந்தா, முன்னாள் பிரதமா் மன்மோகன் சிங், முன்னாள் குடியரசு துணைத் தலைவா் பைரோன் சிங் ஷெகாவத், பாஜக மூத்த தலைவா் எல்.கே. அத்வானி உள்ளிட்டோருக்கு ஏற்கெனவே இந்த விருது வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

1. 2020-21ம் ஆண்டு கல்வி செயல்பாடு தமிழகம், புதுவை மூன்றாவது இடம்
- ஒன்றிய கல்வி அமைச்சகத்தின் 2020-21ம் ஆண்டிற்கான மாநிலங்கள், யூனியன் பிரதேசங்களின் செயல்பாட்டு தரவரிசை குறியீட்டில் தமிழகம், புதுச்சேரிக்கு மூன்றாவது இடம் கிடைத்துள்ளது.
- ஒன்றிய கல்வி அமைச்சகத்தின் கீழ் இயங்கும் பள்ளிக்கல்வி மற்றும் எழுத்தறிவுத் துறை 2020-21ம் ஆண்டிற்கான மாநிலங்கள், யூனியன் பிரதேசங்களின் செயல்பாட்டு தரவரிசை குறியீட்டை நேற்று வெளியிட்டது. பள்ளிக் கல்வி அமைப்புமுறையின் செயல்பாடுகள் அடிப்படையில் இந்த தரிவரிசை குறியீடு வழங்கப்படுகிறது.

1. உலகின் மிகப் பிரமிப்பான புதையல் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட நூற்றாண்டு தினம்
- தொல்லியல் ஆய்வாளர்கள், உலகின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளில், பழங்கால மக்கள் பயன்படுத்திய ஏராளமான அரிய பொருள்களையும், மண்ணுக்குள் புதைந்து கிடந்த தங்கம், வைரம், வைடூரியம் போன்ற மதிப்பு மிக்க பொருள்களையும் தோண்டி எடுத்து இருக்கிறார்கள்.
- உலகம் முழுவதும் கிடைத்த தொல்பொருள் புதையல்களிலேயே மிக அதிகமான மதிப்புக் கொண்ட புதையல் தோண்டி எடுக்கப்பட்ட நூற்றாண்டு தினம், இன்று (வெள்ளிக்கிழமை) பெரிய அளவில் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
- அந்தப் பிரமாண்ட புதையலின் சொந்தக் காரர், எகிப்து மன்னர் டூடங்காமன். 10 வயதில் மன்னராகப் பதவி ஏற்று, 19-வது வயதில் மர்மமான முறையில் மரணத்தைத் தழுவியவர் டூடங்காமன்.
- தந்தை அகெனாடென் திடீர் என்று மரணம் அடைந்ததால், டூடங்காமன், 10 வயதில் மன்னர் பொறுப்பு ஏற்றார். 19-வது வயதில், கி.மு. 1323-ஆம் ஆண்டு மரணம் அடைந்தார்.
- மரணம் அடைபவர்களின் ஆன்மா அழியாது;
- அந்த ஆன்மா உடலை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு மறு உலகில் வாழும் என்ற நம்பு காரணமாக எகிப்து மக்கள், மரணம் அடைபவர்களின் உடல், எரிப்பது இல்லை.
- பல்வேறு மூலிகைகள், ரசாயன திரவங்களைக் கொண்டு, இறந்தவரின் உடலைப் பதப்படுத்தி சவப் பெட்டியில் வைத்து அடக்கம் செய்துவிடுவார்கள்.
- அப்படிப் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்ட உடல்கள், ‘மம்மி‘ என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டன.
- பழங்கால மன்னர்களின் மம்மிகள் புதைக்கப்பட்ட கல்லறைகளில் கிடைக்கும் தகவல்களைக் கொண்டு எகிப்தின் வரலாற்றை எழுத முயன்ற ஆய்வாளர்கள், அந்தக் கல்லறைகள் எங்கே இருக்கின்றன என்று தேடுதல் வேட்டை நடத்தினார்கள்.
- மூவாயிரத்து ஐநூறு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு எகிப்தை ஆட்சி செய்த பல மன்னர்கள் மற்றும் ராணிகளின் கல்லறைகள், தீப்ஸ் என்று முன்னர் அழைக்கப்பட்ட லக்ஸார் நகரின் பாலைவனப் பகுதியில் இருப்பதை அவர்கள் கண்டுபிடித்தார்கள்.

- பல மன்னர்களின் கல்லறைகள் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில், கடைசி பரம்பரை மன்னரும், மர்மமாக இறந்தவருமான டூடங்காமன் என்பவர் கல்லறை இருக்கும் இடம் மட்டும் எங்கே இருக்கிறது என்பது எவருக்கும் தெரியவில்லை.
- இங்கிலாந்து நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த ஹோவர்டு கார்ட்டர் என்பவர், 17 வயதில் எகிப்து நாட்டுக்குச் சென்று, அங்கு கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட பழங்கால கல்லறைகளில் உள்ள கல்வெட்டு மற்றும் சித்திர எழுத்துக்களைப் பதிவு செய்யும் பணியைச் செய்தார்.

1. A cinereous type of eagle
- A cinereous vulture found trapped by Cyclone Ockhi was airlifted from Chennai to Jodhpur.

1. Malayalam writer D.P. Rajeev passed away
- In Malayalam literary circles D.P. Rajeevan, popularly known as, has contributed significantly in various fields of literature including poetry, novel, travelogue, screenplay.
- His novel ‘Balerimaanikkam’ was released as a movie of the same name starring actor Mammootty.
- He was awarded the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 2014 for his novel KTN Kottoor: Chhydum Jeevithum.
- His other important works include Kriyasesham, Kunjali Marakar.
- He has also written English poetry under the name Thachampoilrajeevan.

1. Anuvirath Puraskar Award
- Late former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was awarded ‘Anuvirath Puraskar’.
- In 1949 Swami Acharya Tulsi from Rajasthan started a private service center called Anuvirath.
